I just realized--- Anti De Presence was the only finalist film shot on the DVX. We should get a few extra points for that, yeah? :kiss:
 
the idea is kind of old and getting cliche'. i see this at film school all the time. army men, cowboys and indians.

although your execution was good.

Considering I usually enjoy watching behind the scenes docs more than the movies they are about, I'm glad to see you put something together for this. I thought I was going to have to wait until the Ultimate Edition DVD boxed set.

That DVD boxed set you speak of will also include the directors commentary, however ridiculous it might sound.

Screeing the movie tonight at the local coffee shop for the cast, crew, friends, and family. I'd invite other dvxusers, but is there anyone else in Vermont...besides cows?

It will be nice to see it in front of an audience.
 
The screening was a lot of fun last night. A big success! We had a great crowd turn up and they wanted to watch it twice. Yay!
It was such an unnecessary ego booster.. :) but exciting to see it with an audience.

sorry... brought the camera but forgot to take pictures. I can't wait for tomorrow!
 
I really enjoyed this.

SPOILERS

The moment after he banishes the ghost... the uncomfortable, but relieved laughter and side comments... that was 100% talented acting. That feels like a real pay-off for the whole thing up to that point... and then the real twist ending seals the deal. This is one of only two entries that I watched instantly twice in a row... and it was even better the second time.

Very satisfying. Thank you.

Yes. I decided to use my own place so I could treat it like a set and trash it... Still cleaning up the mess and up until a week ago, the set decorations were still up! Too much other stuff to do. Thanks!

Thanks for the very kind words. That take was one of my favs too. I love good actors! You'll be seeing them again. Fo' sheezy.


There's one more intentional "feature" of the movie that nobody has mentioned yet- we never see the ceiling in the "doll" scenes, until we blow through it for the reveal. Did anyone notice that?
 
I watched all films except the führerbunker which didnt load......this one gets my #1 vote for the roundness of the story with the lil girl at beginning+ end, for the line of storytelling, the final surprise factor, the tricks, the whole spirit with a smirk....where do I vote ?

its ok.....I didnt know about your fests til some time ago and am still new here...

and I have 1 criticism for ya: when the "priest" says get me a crystal ball and a candle!

holy moly, couldnt you at least make the pill eater LIGHT IT UP THERE ON THE TABLE ??

I mean to return with the props all ready and burning candle.....that was a bit disappointing.

my wife who watched with me said she would have liked if the puppet house was a miniaturized version of the REAL thing but I told here these are NO BUDGET films and she understood :thumbup:

Tim! Im dissappointed you didn't place. But believe me that your film deserved to be up there with anyone else in this fest. I know its no consolation but at the end of the day its a numbers game on a select group and it would have been very different on any other day.

Hope you enter the next fest, I look forward to seeing your work, and thanks for the support!
 
I have a sealed copy of a very cool DVD--Daft Punk's Electroma, in an aluminum DVD case. It's an experimental science fiction film they made. A bit rare. Totally worth watching. I ended up with two copies, and thought I'd give the second, sealed copy to a deserving film that didn't place--because I so often love a dvxuser film that doesn't place. I think Anti DePresence is that film. I thought it was really very cool and very well done. I'd love to send you the DVD, totally at my expense, as my own prize to a deserving film. You want the DVD? If so, PM...or I"ll PM you and see if you would like it.
