touchscreen here in georgia.

i voted at 3 different precincts today and the longest i had to wait at any of them was about 5 minutes.

Just out of curiosity, what technology did you all use for your balloting? Mine was a paper ballot that you mark with a pen, which you then hand feed into a machine. I like the idea of having a paper ballot behind my vote.

Same here. That is the best method right now, the electronic only method is just ripe for fraud.

I voted with paper. Filled out the ballot, put it in this envelope, which I had to lick to seal (gross) and put through a slot in a black box. They did have one electronic voting machine, but I went with paper instead.

How can you vote more than once? No wonder the ballot numbers are wacky in some states ;-)

got in line at 5:45 AM stood in the already around the block line for an hour
 to me and all else who got "up for the down stroke" to quote Parliament Funkadelic.

UGA, you are on a roll today (in this thread alone). We are going into town later to vote with my Grandma and have Subway. Then I will do one of two things:

1) Go to the AP Gov election party
2) Create my own election party on my couch

My friend's dad stockpiled booze and I am thinking I might need some for myself. I mean, I already committed voter fraud, why not throw underage drinking into the mix too? :)

(Kidding, if you couldn't tell. Don't come knocking on my door...)

EDIT: What I am going to miss is Tim Russert and his white board. A true class act, he would have been all over this election.

Paper ballots here in my precinct and the lines weren't bad at all. Surprised by how many folks are heading to the park for the rally tonite sans ticket.

It'll be interesting to see how the cops are going to handle the crowd projected at a million plus. CPD didn't do a good job this summer with all of the violence at the Taste of Chicago.

I'm just getting ready to have a snack in front of the tube to watch the silliness.

And then I realized....no Tim Russert. Funny how that makes a difference to me :(

Yeah, the man is missed.

On a side note, CNN's steadicam operator is going to be a very tired individual before the night is over. Anyone else see the poor man running all over the set?:)

russert was the best in the business. he always seemed so excited on election day, sort of like a kid in a candy store.
