Snowing in my footage...

I am trying to figure out why my footage looks so snowy/ (noisy) when recording with my hvx. It is not a matter of low light as this occurs even when shooting outdoors or interior with different lighting kits and stopped down due to too much light. So my question is does anyone know why this might be happening? In case you are confused to what I mean, my footage looks good, everything is properly exposed, focused, etc. there is just what looks to be moving dots in motion almost like snow, through the frame. Cant figure out why, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Tyree

Hard to know what to suggest without a sample frame, though you mention problems in well lit to dark shots.

Perhaps try setting the Master Ped to -7 and Detail Coring to +7, and see if that helps at all, then tweak from there based on the lighting conditions.

Check you don't have your ND's active, when perhaps they should not be.

Note, viewing the footage on a computer LCD will show more noise than an HDTV.

Thanks for the response. No the ND's are off. I use a 17" Panasonic Hd monitor and it is noticeable on there too. Its a lot harder to see in a screen grab because its more significant when moving. Sort of dances on the screen.

Thanks

As was suggested you should tweek the ped and coring and see what happens but the reason I write is are you sure you didn't have the gain turned on by accident. Sometimes that gain switch on the side is flipped when trying to get at another switch.
