Thanks! This was the first real movie I shot with a 35mm adapter, so I'm glad you could appreciate it!I kinda got a kick out of how wacky the first few shots were. However, about 10 seconds in I felt it quickly turned into high school/frat houset humor which just isn’t my type. What I did like was how you shot the piece. It was well framed and had decent enough lighting. The voice over had a very anime quality to it… that hollow room tone (bad if that wasn’t what you were going for, good if it was). Anyway, competently made and guiltily funny, but not my cup of tea.
Glad you like the visuals! Hopefully once you see part 2, the story will be a little more coherent!Yes, the beginning was hilarious! This is also one of the best shot films I thought. The composition was excellent throughout. Too much ADR, but great music!
The story started to lose me as it went on though.
Still, I'm interested in seeing part 2.
Good thing I like bananas!! Thanks, man, I really appreciate it! For this film, it was pretty much me (Matt Stuertz) doing the behind the camera stuff, and I'm not in the film. However, all of the actors in it are filmmakers as well, whether its working with me or on their own. Brian Bear (Benjamin) collaborates with me a lot on coming up with ideas and just figuring out stuff that's funny. The whole button flying off thing was something we came up with while watching TV one night a while back. AJ Meadows (Timmy AKA "sore balls") does a bunch of filmmaking himself. http://www.vimeo.com/anthonymeadowsTHIS MOVIE IS BANANAS

"BANANAS"
I thought the ADR worked for it. Worked with the absurd cartoon feel.
Are any of the cast members the filmmakers?
Thanks! We realized that swinging your arm like a whip into someone's face ends up being really poo pooing funny!I loved this film, I was rolling on the ground on that first scene. It was very corky and odd. When button man smacked the other guy, I lost it again. Great work on cinematography and humor. Great job guys.
Yeah, he is very expressive! Once the whole movie is done, I may end up making the "poo pooing" edition so the whole family can watch!I like the humor and your lead has a fantastic face expression, but the word f*ck seems to be a little bit overused in your film.
Hope you enjoy it!!I'm looking forward to viewing your film. Good luck with Twilight Fest. Should be exciting!
Glad you loved it! It seems like most people don't like to do ADR, but I actually find it pretty fun - a lot of times we end up with stuff thats way funnier than the real take. (for example: the f*ck the DVX line was added just a few hours before we submitted) Plus the actors always have a good time yelling at my computer screen!Loved this movie (..or maybe it was just late at night and I've watch 49 before this one)! Very different & creative. Good shots and camera movement. Liked the edit too. To me, I think the ADR through the whole film made it THAT much funnier (laughed my ass off). Main character blew me away.
The 'bleeps' in the beginning where just a tad much for me...and i lost count of the F-bombs thrown here...but it worked.
This is one of my favs of the fest!
Thanks for the great poo pooing review!! The HF100 is a great little camera.HOLY poo pooING shi* THAT WAS A MUTHA poo pooING FUNNY poo pooING GENIUS poo pooING MOVIE!!!!!!!
Props on brilliant use of a HF100!!
I appreciate the kind words!! All the actors were great to work with, and we had a lot of fun on set. I'm certainly looking forward to doing it again soon! Hope to have part2 ready soon as well!Crap man, where to even start? A friggin' riot all the way through. Your actors were awesome. Nailed it in every scene. Had my smiling, laughing, shaking my head, and then laughing again. Kick ass.
I love the editing and your camera work in a lot of this. It keeps things at such a frenetic break neck pace the viewer has to work to keep up with it. But oh what fun that is.
The ADR wasn't perfect but still worked for me. Sounded fine on POS speakers.
Excellent job and btw fantastic open!
