Beginning Middle End Productions Presents...

They aren't that different... like, nothing substantial was cut... the pacing is just a lot slower at the beginning. I just thought the DVX cut moved a little too quickly...cuz in that version, half the movie is the third act! Haha
I get you. Not much will change in mine either. Just the pacing and a little more character development.

Still, it will be fun to look at the two of them and compare.

Cheers,

Mike

wow man.. this really looks like a kick ass concept, love the art and the grabs. cant wait to see it when the viewing begins.

Amongst all those thread I read (and there isn't small number of them), this looks hmmm...

Me and friend talked a lot about movie (which was never made) about strip maker and his chars coming to life...
Cannot find the right words, but let's just say I REALLY want to see the ending of this one. And the whole film, of course. :D

Good luck!

Finished, uploaded, verified & approved! It a GO. I think the 'waiting for open viewing' is killing me more than the 'waiting to upload'. Really looking forward to your film. Congrats to cast & crew!!

Mike - I will definitely make the longer cut available for your viewing pleasure..
Mark & Mile - Thank you! I look forward to hearing what you guys think..
Zaza - Me too... how long does it usually take for them to get through it all?

I just read over all the production notes and checked out the stills. Looks like you put alot of work into this - looks like it'll be a fantastic film.

Oct. 28 Wow I have been neglecting this blog. Basic recap of the last 20 days. Both cuts of the film are finished. The DVX cut clocked in at 5:40... so I had time to add my production logo and some ridiculously quick credits. The full cut runs about 6:50 and we haven't done the credits yet. I'm anticipating about a minutes worth of credits, so call it 8mins total for the full cut.

I'd recommend against that. I doubt anyone wants to sit through a minute's worth of credits for a short film, unless you're adding more shots in between.

Usually I would agree with you as it sometimes seems inappropriate to have longs credits in a short. And I NEVER think it's appropriate to have opening credits for a short, that just seems like a waste of screen time.

But the truth of the matter is, I'm listing over 50 names in the end credits and it doesn't seem appropriate to short change their credit because people can't sit for longer than 30 seconds reading text.

I also imagine that all of those 50 people will be at the screening and would enjoy seeing their name on the screen. Plus we're also doing some cool animation with all the art that was done... so I'm not really worried about anyone having to "sit through" anything.

Ah, I see your point. If all those 50 people are going to be at the screening I agree with you, for sure will get a kick out of seeing their names on the big screen.

Amazing BTS and grabs. Digging the story concept. Love the posters as well. I will definately be looking forward to seeing this one.

Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God.

My favorite so far. Crazy, wow.

I loved the intro montage.

The story in this was dead on, PERFECT. You nailed the theme and kept me interested the WHOLE way.

Beautiful actors, beautiful images, and the score was tremendous.

One thing that bugged me was the lighting in the doctors office. I guess it was just kind of harsh.

Other than that, you really made an amazing twilight/love story, with a cool twist in the end.

This is will do fabulous.

This was a great short. The cinematography was really top notch, a real pleasure to watch.

Nice score, kept the mood and pace very well. Nicely acted. I can't say enough good things about this film. Really nice job.

Did you use an adapter for the shoot? Was this an HVX200?

Sorry, I didn't want to go through all the posts again.

Robbie, glad you liked it!
The lighting in the hospital was definitely a choice... you aren't the first to not really agree with it. We were going for kind of a surreal vibe.. and we really wanted to make use of the net on the lens.

Yes sir! We used an HVX200 with the stock lens. I'm glad you liked it!

Really good story in this one. Another one that fits the theme. And, a LOT of work went into it obviously. It's all really great.

Congrats on a well turned out piece.

Very nice work! I really liked the gradual build up towards the end. Very well paced.
The artwork was also exceptional and really helped you sell the movie.

I'm going to watch it again soon and get back to you with more.

Very solid work!!

Gotta try and keep up with all your comments here...

I really enjoyed this. A great story and loved the ending.

Awesome.
Thank you! I'm REALLY proud of the ending... definitely the best thing I've ever done so far. This might seem odd. but the ending is very much inspired (stylistically) by the ending of The Dark Knight...haha!

Thank you, I'm glad you dug it. There was definitely A LOT of hard work that was put into the movie. I just made claim that "The ending was the best thing I've ever done so far," but the truth is, it wasn't just me who made that ending. A lot of credit goes to the actors for hitting those looks out of the park. In fact, I can hardly take any credit for that, I had my amazing crew set up those dolly shots, Kevin and Frank lit that sh*t beautifully and Mark with his amazing focus pull. Some really good stuff there. And last, but certainly not least, that scene is golden cuz of Danny's score.

Thanks man, can't wait to hear what else you got!

Good job, Mike! Especially considering all you had to go through to get it finished. This was a very solid and intriguing story with some really good cinematography. I thought your actors all did very well and the actress has a really engaging look about her. This, I think is what indie filmmaking is all about. Good stories.
