TwilightFest 2008 - Submission Status

Well, I've just completed the monster download of all the fest films - it's just under 3GB folks! - for my share of the approval process. (We don't make Larry sit through them all all by himself.)

From what I've been following and from what little snippits I've seen, I am very excited to see what everyone has come up with. I have high hopes for the films I will be seeing tonight.

I'd like to take this chance to thank everyone who has given the time and effort to compete in TwilightFest. Now that uploads are in, and while you are waiting for viewing to begin, take a few days off and relax - you've earned it. Well done to everyone.

Of course, if you are looking for something to fill your now empty schedule for the next week; might I recommend the newly reborn DVXuser photo contest? :)

Holy crap, mine is already approved?! Awesome! How did that happen? I'm like #20 on the list! haha. :D

Wow...nice turnout!! I was really down to the wire. After an all-nighter, I got mine in at a quarter to 2 p.m. Ah, thank you east coast time difference.

wow I looked at it this morning and there were so few, and now OMG, i'll try to watch them all,

hey, hey, hey! i know it can be daunting as hell, but if your gonna be voting you best watch em all! (no offense, just a blanket statement)

When you say 50+ posts and submitting an entry to vote, does that mean you need to do both or either one of the two?

I am pretty sure if you don't have 50 posts you can vote as long as you submitted an entry.

I could be wrong however.

But best of luck to everyone. I have made a special folder on my desktop for all the films. Hurray.

Congradulations to everyone who submitted and good luck. while I may not be able to vote I intend on watching them all. and I would be remise in my duties if I didnt encourge everyone to take the time and watch "Possible Charlie"....hehehe. Sage (AKA Stinkpot to those in the forums) went out of his way to bring in a quality short and I'm honored to have been a part of it. Again, good luck to everyone!

It was true last fest. I submitted, had less than 50 and voted.

Okies,

We've jsut updated the list on the firstpost of this thread to reflect the current status.
We are working our way through the entries now, makign sure they all adhere to the rules, etc..

As we work through the list, sometimes we have questions about films to the makers ("Where's the darn ball?") which can cause short delays in the approval of some films. So don't panic if you don't see yours approved yet. It just means that we haven't managed to get it viewed & cleared yet. We are of course working as fast as we can to get everyoen cleared and into the fest.

Of course we hope to just watch through all the films and check them off as we go. We arn't trying to keep anyone out; if there's a way we can qualify a film, we will do what we can to make it happen.

---

In other news; the films I've had a chance to review have been - again - great films. I haven't come across any that I'd call a "poor film". Good work everyone!

And yes, Zerg is correct.

You must have at least 50 posts OR be the submitter of a film to vote. Either is enough to qualify for voting.

Thanks Mikko,

Submitter then is the name attached to the entry, In my case, "Adam Beck, Tereasonist". I am a partner and involved in project, but only one on staff can vote. I take it
