"Innocence" by AJ Brooks

dude i know the feeling...
My lead dropped out 2 weeks before production... after i had had to different artists working on illustrations of him. I had to recast..and bring on another artist to handle the do-overs since we had a new lead. I was stressed... to say the least...

Hope it works out!

For anyone familiar with Oregon weather you may be surprised that the rain has been in my favor. This film may actually see the light of day!

Thanks ya'll for the encouraging comments.

Write for the environment you are in! My shoot was all indoors, so it didn't matter.

Slightly off topic -
For "Untraceable" (w/Diane Lane which shot in Portland), they shot in the rain as well, but also had to create artificial rain to augment it because the real rain didn't "look like rain"! I spent 4 hours in the rain watching them shoot a scene with a huge crane that ended up being less than 30 seconds in the finished film. I felt a little cheated, and didn't get to see how the crane shot turned out.

Can't wait to see your showcase of our lovely weather! :)

Yeah, also like when they filmed The Hunted here because they wanted a lot of rain, then of course when it came time to shoot we had a span of zero rain. Weather loves film. :)

Update:

Shooting is almost wrapped. Two small scenes tonight and tomorrow morning, then that's it!

The previous night we shot a party scene and I made the minor mistake of letting the actors actually drink wine. It wasn't really an issue, but it's just humorous to watch the footage and see the shift as we got toward the end of the evening with everyone a little tipsy.

Some BTS screens to illustrate my point:

LOL... That's great! I used sparkling grape juice for one of my films. I only had the actors for one day & I couldn't chance it. Welcome to the fest & best of luck. looks good.

Received film score today from Francesco De Leonardis. I'm really impressed with the score. Truly some great work.

This looks like fun. Love the grabs and the poster. The girl is very cute. Any problems working with her?

Can't wait. Congrats on getting it in. Looking forward to this.

The little girl was a joy to work with. Her mother was there and they both were enthusiastic and excited to be part of the film.

I gave her constant feedback while we were filming and soon she picked the process and was even offering her own ideas.

I was worried though because we filmed with young actors last film .One girl was excited until she saw the camera. Then she broke into tears and didn't want to be on camera.

But yeah, I lucked out on this film. I had the most generous cast I've ever had. Have nice people on set is awsome! lol

Film is Approved!

I was really nervous it wouldn't get approved for some odd reason. lol

*sigh of relief*

Sweet, AJ, looking forward to seeing this film! I think TwilightFest is going to offer perhaps some of the most diversity, as well as some of the coolest films yet. :)
