How to dump P2 to HDD.

oh and also... when the files are exported in p2cms to an external hd using a pc, can i just take that external hd and plug it into a mac and fcp will be able to read the files of footage? it is FAT32
 
"ingest" is to bring all your clips into one big central database.

"export" is used to copy clips from one place to another, either from the central database out to some other drive, or copying from a P2 card to a hard disk (without ingesting into the central database).

I know many who use the word "ingest" when talking about importing footage (say from a P2 card or external HDD) into the NLE (in my case, FCP) project being worked on.
