"Dead Week" - A film by Kyle Stebbins (and company)

Kyle - like your cast, easy to imagine those guys getting into zombie hijinks for some reason.

Also like the under the bridge and strip mall locations - where is the basement location Mark mentioned?

Oooo it's gonna be fun.

Thanks for the visit, Jack. I hope you are well.

As for the locations, I 'spect I should've taken those pictures down when I x'd them off the list. I've got some nice locations secured now, though... and judging by the amount of work I've got on my lap right now, I probably won't find time to take pictures to put on the thread.

We start shooting in just a few days now! I'm starting to get nervous!

... I still need to get those zombie sounds up.

I should maybe also set up a disclaimer:

We are a student film crew making a student film. No promises for a set that's as cool as O2 or the Monster's new projects.

Nope.

Even better ones.

;)

The keys to the building fall into my hands tomorrow morning.

My lead makeup artist has now confirmed her availability for each shoot date.

Zombie extras are lining up in high numbers.

Prop guns are on their way.

Actors are working on their parts, meeting with me.

Letus Extreme has been ordered (thanks, Alex!) and we're keeping our fingers crossed that it will arrive in time for this weekend. If not, chances are we'll be shooting with the M2.

WHAT IS YET TO BE DONE:

Shoot.

Sleep.

Study for tests.

BRING IT ON DVXUSER TWILIGHTFEST!!!!
IS THAT THE BEST YOU CAN DO!?!

They must have some kind of union up here, 'cause I couldn't get a one to work for just copy, credit, and brains.

Seriously, that sounds cool. Can't wait to see what kind of movie needs high numbers of zombie extras. :)

Haha! Me too!

But really, college theatre and film students are the most helpful, talented group of people around. Love em.

You've seen our passion for Husker football... imagine it now for the arts! YEAH!

Gimme your camera, I'll take care of pictures. I probably should anyway for VFX uses ;) Oh, and on the list of stuff still needed... I need to acquire gas money yet to assure the availability of myself and your lead makeup artist:beer:

//stupid freelance gigs taking their time sending me my money...

Kick some serious ass. Zombie ass!

Thanks, captain.

I just got the keys to the mighty GOLDS building.

Funny story... the property management thought I was with a film crew from California. Apparently just a week or so before today there was a big crew scouting the area. I would've loved to talk myself up, but confessed that I was just a student of the University interested in using their basement.

I can't wait until this weekend.

I really wish I could find time to get in there and snap some photos to put on here before we shoot.

The shoot is nearing, and Nate has offered to man the reigns of my Canon Rebel. I'll be sure to post the pictures he snaps up on here when I get a chance.

Feel free to wear it with pride, good sir. I think we could all use a Fat Monster update.

We've got a lot of stuff under way. Yesterday we visited the set of a Samurai film that Dragon Dronet is acting in and which we'll be doing some work on. We're doing preproduction with Carl Weathers Monday for the episode we'll be shooting with him next month. On Thursday we did a location walkthrough with him at a killer location that Tim was able to find by using his considerable contacts.

We've locked Daniel Roebuck (http://www.danielroebuck.com/) for a role in our Iraq War film project that we'll be shooting next week. The guy is a prince and I can't say enough good things about him.

Vienna Teng is in town to supervise the mixdown of her new album over in Sherman Oaks. She's invited us to swing by to audition some tracks and shoot some interview footage that will be used for a small "making-of" piece to accompany the "Gravity" video.

Jim Demo has been out here networking with his big-dog contacts and staying at the Monster Shack for a few days. He showed us the final cut of the short we shot with him a couple months ago. Looks very good and is slated for a big festival run.

Looks like another weekend in paradise out here. We'll be thinking of you zombie masters.

Ciao.

Hahaha!! I wonder how long some people have sat at that loading page... I'm too tired to stare at it for very long tonight.

Really cool news about Carl Weathers, Mark. We are huge Arrested Development fans and are constantly telling each other that we've "got ourselves a stew!" thanks to his character.

Brilliance. What I'd give to work with him...

We had our first shoot tonight. Things went very well. Lots to do tomorrow.
I'd write more but I know how much sleep I've already lost so I'm going to hit the hay.

The dailies look great thus far.
Can't wait to bring out the zombies tomorrow!

See you then!

Stebbs reporting. It's 8:34am here in Lincoln and I'm concocting some wonderful fake blood. I just got off the phone with the local police department and informed them I will be using two fake guns in the basement of the Golds building today. As usual, they were very accommodating and appreciated the phone call.

In many ways I feel like the crew from the movie "Once". The film had zero lighting equipment (well, nothing special anyway) and was one of the best films of the year, I thought. Not that a zombie film is capable of touching millions of people... though maybe it can, in a DIFFERENT way... but when my student colleagues are renting out tons and tons of expensive lighting instruments, I find myself right at home using work lights from Home Depot and my buddies as actors.

Ah, filmmaking.

I'd better check the mix and start to round up the troops. We've got a big day ahead of us.
