Music Video for Film festival

Hello Dillon,
I like the music video. I though it was shot well and original. The story made me won't to watch it to the end.

Hey Dillon,
I interested in what you're doing here. Isn't that a song by the Killers? Are you taking these songs and figuring what you would do for a video, etc? That is a very interesting concept if that's it. If not, would you mind explaining the process or whatever to doing something like this. and, who are these bands in the videos. This is interesting.

We'll i made it so that bands would see that i'm able to do music video's for them and i'm not just a 16 year old kid wasting their time, but another reason i made it was to put in the unoriginal soundtrack portion of some film festivals. But i just picked the song, came up with the story and concept, then with the band shots i had a shot list. The band was just some guys that playin a band at my school and they did it as a favor.

Dillon,
Thanks for the reply. It is impressive for your age, no doubt. I kindof suspected your age because of the age of the guys in the video. It just confused me a bit, because I was like "are these the guys singing the song, or is this The Killers" I didn't get it at first. Thanks for clarifying. It really is cool, I was was just confused as to waht I was looking at.

I like what you did and I think it's very creative. Mainly I just think it's great that at 16 you're practicing filmmaking, making music videos, putting together a story with music, etc. I mean, I wish I had started when I was younger. In retrospect I had every opportunity to do so but I guess it just never occurred to me. I made some short films with friends, that was pretty fun, but I didn't have decent editing software until later either.

I also was approaching film in a different manner that's good and bad. A lot of people in college asked me why I wasn't more actively involved with production if that's what I ultimately wanted to do (the college had no film major, but they had a telemedia minor and some people would shoot stuff on the side, which I sometimes assisted with but didn't create anything of my own), but I spent my time studying film academically. Took a lot of film classes, ran a film review site and watched a lot of the classics, read film history books, really studied what makes a great film, etc. I don't regret that at all and I think it's an important part of my strong foundation. But I think what you're doing, by actually going out there and making work, is very valuable and to some extent I don't even think it matters how good or bad it is as long as you are learning from each experience. That's what counts when you're younger. I liked what you did, though, not saying it was bad, I thought it was very creative! I'm just saying no matter what, I wouldn't consider work you do a failure if it doesn't turn out how you want. Just keep plugging away and you'll learn every step of the way!

hope this is a shock that a 16 year old did this.

The only way for you to shock me is if you were 90 years old.
Imagine grandpa doing a music video for the very first time :).

Hey Man great job! I just barely turned 17 in July so i know what you mean you want people to take you serious with your work. I haven't touched on music videos that much but did one for the first time with my A1 (of which i got less than a month ago) . Tell me what you think-

Great work! I saw the killers a few weeks ago, they were great.
I'm 16 too, its really cool to see that there are so many serious young film makers.
The cardboard sets and robot costumes were amazing. I can't wait to see what else you come up with.
