Wyatt Cenac, thats cool. He is very talented. As an indie filmaker working with up and coming talent you never know where they will end up. Lots of luck with your film.
 
i just got george romeros diary of the dead,
it has an hpx500, looks like a dvx and i hink an hvx?

but if i get one youll be rewinding alot and showing it to everybody!!!
thats is if i dont switch name brands..or soemthing...?

Are you from Toronto (and live here as well)? I live in Toronto (downtown) right now and I'm scouting out locations for my first docudrama right now (shooting the first of November 2008).

Great trailer for the film too... looks impressive indeed! I love the look of the red rock too... was it used with 35mm lenses?

I'm so focused right now on the look of video, seamless editing and styles of shooting, I don't even look at actors anymore haha. I still listen to dialogue for content & strength but I'm just studying every piece of film right now in ways I never did before.

Great work too... is this film playing in Toronto right now or available somewhere else?

oh yeah i remember other famuose and most profitable films from paramount,
jack ass the movie and 2.5 has more panys than any one !!!!
wild boyz waz almost totaly dvx in 2003-4
jack ass has tons has hvx and other modles!

Someone should make an all HVX movie released in theaters. Like a normal studio movie. Kind of like how the show Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia uses only DVXs and they make it look pretty darn nice. I am curious to know what Watchmen was shot on. The previews are so very very very crisp and detailed. Especially the begining.
 
AkaiJenkins, "Medicine for Melancholy" has a GREAT look to it. I'm quite impressed, that looks really good. It's sadly very rare to see something in the extra low budget range have such a great quality storyline to it. I mean I've only seen the trailer of course, but it's very enticing.

I was a cameraman and flunky on the First Jackass movie and a friend did the first season and shot all of the water stuff... and they were shooting on Sony PD150s and digibeta. I didn't see and didn't shoot any Panasonic stuff on Jackass. I personally had a PD150 and a fisheye on my cam the whole time. If you watch the first movie and look at the failed ending.. you'll see me standing right next to the Porto-let where Preston is going to swing into on the wrecking ball..

huh i was pretty sure i saw soem cameras on 2.5 then wasnt jack ass the movie like 2003-4? jack ass 2.5 has panys you can see em in action so does wild boyz!!

with christ pontius on that elephant was hvx shot for nintendo! that was cuople years ago!!

Hello Dale,

Sorry for the late response. I'm not from Toronto but the film screened there as part of the Toronto Film Festival. We also have a Canadian distributor so at some point and time the film will indeed be in Canadian theaters.

The film was shot with an HVX/Red Rock/ Nikon SLR 35mm lens setup at 720p. We edited in Final Cut and colored the film ourselves shot by shot using the program Color.

Were you up here in Toronto then for the film festival?

I live right next to the Sutton Place Hotel (where all the press conferences were held) and also right down the street from Yorkville and the theatres are too. I saw tons of celebs as well for the 10 days of the festival (the side door of the Sutton Place Hotel is where the celebs arrive and depart from, watched it all from my condo).

If you were here and saw a big golden retriever walking around during the festival, chances are it was mine haha.

P.S. The guy from my dog park (Paul Gross) had his movie Passchendaele open up this year's TIFF. Such an achievement for Paul, almost 12 years in the making for this film. He raised $20 million in private and donations (gov't grants included) and got this film finally made. I'm hoping to pick his brain about it in the coming weeks and see if he can take me under his wing. A great guy with a great film, my new hero!
