How well does that arm hold the Ikan? I'm assuming the other end goes into the camera hotshoe?

The arm can hold WAY more than the ikan. It's lighter, stronger, and more customizable than the Noga Arm.

The other end is a standard 1/4-20 male connection.

Here's all the accessories and pieces for the arm:

Very interested! How is the monitor for focusing/viewing HD 16:9 footage? How does this monitor compare to the Marshall monitor (if you know)? Do the sony batteries work with Sony's VX1000 by any chance. THANKS

It's great for HD. The batteries DO work with the Sony VX1000. Have not used the marshall, but they have the same resolution, and both take component HD.
