As to clip #5, FCP 6.0.4 also saw that as a green clip that wouldn't import.
I did transcode it in Toast 9 however.
I selected all ten clips Barry posted at once and converted them in about two minutes to Canopus HQ format using a Quad-core 9450.
HQ files are large, but they look great and are easy to edit with.
What is the best estimate for street price and delivery on the HMC150?
B&H has it at just shy of $3,500
the canopus hq format is limited to 1440x1080... what are the ramifications of this avchd 1920x1080 getting changed to 1440x1080?

I have edited my Sony SR11 1920x1080 AVCHD video using HQ and can't tell the difference on playback. Of course I haven't done any detailed lab tests.

No it isn't. The Canopus HQ codec has two modes, either 1440x1080 or 1920x1080. There are no ramifications.the canopus hq format is limited to 1440x1080... what are the ramifications of this avchd 1920x1080 getting changed to 1440x1080?
The 500 is about 2/3 stop faster than the HMC150/HPX170. I don't know how they compare with noise and after gain because I don't have a 500 here to compare with. How does the HPX 500 compare in light sensitivity and dynamic range? (I know theyre in different leagues)
