Awesome stuff guys, really stellar! Can't wait to see the finished product.

Next time call me, I can stand in as an insurgent extra!

Wow I really do look nice as an Iraqi woman...

And those firefights... wow. Cartridges flying everywhere... Still cant get over it... This is going to be big...

As is ALWAYS the case on a Fat Monster shoot... it was truly an honor to be on-board. There aren't many things you can do in life that are more satisfying then crewing anything FM does.

Some of the most admirable traits of this crew are totally hidden from the public view... you just have to be there to see it happening. Productions like this can be unpredictable... and I've never seen a guy more adept at socking curve balls out of the park (then Mark)... the man doesn't flinch under pressure. A possible slogan for Fat Monster is "Be cool, work hard, and enjoy the ride."

On all of these shoots I've been truly humbled by the plethora of incredibly cool people... it's on another level for certain... it's the church of FM.

Thanks for everything Mark, Tim, and Luis... (the 3-headed monster clawing forward and upward)...

I just want to add a kudos in here... I tend to try and be the guy that just carries ****. I'm a big guy so the pack mule role is familiar to me.... it was really refreshing to have Luis come in and take heavy stuff out of my hands to carry. Killer guy, fantastic to be with on set.

Some more iPhone pics:

Tim Abell lies critically wounded inside an Iraqi home. AD for Action sequences Matt Sigloch gives instructions:

Awesome Matt Gettemeier with his big stiff pole:

Arab extras could actually speak Arab:

Awesome Geoff insisted on being pulled around on this cart all day.

Nate is the man. I say that without reservation or hesitation. Can't wait to turn him loose on some of these frames. We need some serious post FX stuff and I have no doubt he'll deliver.

I hope you guys in the Midwest are making use of him before we here in California reclaim him.

Better hurry Kyle, I'm starting to look at flights here...

=)

Just finished costume fitting for Alex and Ryan's TwiFest film. While there I was given a tour of the Gold's building in downtown Lincoln, NE.

The basement is FULL of dark hallways, abandoned elevators, dead end crawl spaces and creepy boiler rooms full of pipes and dark corners. After costume fitting I made a point of meeting the property management staff and when I mentioned possibly shooting a movie here they went CRAZY. They LOVED the idea. -- So I snagged a couple business cards and made a promise to call them.

It's been decided. This is where a majority of the zombie slaying will take place. It's going to be peeerrrrfffeeecct. -- I'll try and find some time outside of class this week to run in and snap some photos of the property.

It's going to rock.

IN OTHER NEWS, we cast another role. The part of REG will be played by Spencer Smith, a senior theatre major at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Their theatre department is nationally acclaimed and I've known Spencer for a few years now. We began working at the bank during the same month and year. He's a great guy and will be perfect for the part.

His blend of comic timing and serious dedication to his craft is on a professional level that I, too, hope to reach some day. I'm excited to finally be able to work with him.

Here is a simple vector drawing I made of Spencer awhile back.

Keep the Fat Monster stills coming! This stuff is mind-blowing! Dead Week will carry on in the background for now ;)
