Want to go to Canada

I'd suggest renting a cabin like what I'm doing, split it with a couple of friends, you'd have a blast, and as I said, there are tons of them available.

Yeah, that's my plan. I saw the one you're renting, looks awesome.

Any central website that has links to different cabins?

Known some people who have been to Banff and loved it!

Vancouver is a great place. Check out the Aquarium. You'll get to see the hand-holding otters.

Just looked up flights... about $450 on average for round-trip to BC from LA. Not bad.

That's a pretty good price. Unless you want to drive, flying is your best option. I've done the drive from Vancouver to LA, it sucks.

I can tell you where to NOT go. Saskatchewan. It's where I live and it's arguably the most boring place in the universe. This province offers NOTHING. It's not that I lived here long enough that I am getting sick of it; it really is just a lousy place to be.

You got the Roughriders, and wheat. That's something.

Banff is alright, but Whister is nicer. Also, Banff is like the STD capital of the world (not from any experience, just saying. It's like 5 guys for 1 girl and there all 'fellas')

The aquarium is great, was there a few months ago. A new baby beluga was just born.

Yeah, that's my plan. I saw the one you're renting, looks awesome.

I'll keep you posted on how it was when I get back.

Just do a search for Cabin rentals in Whister, you'll get a lot of sites that offer them.

Check out Vermont.

Killbear Provincial Park.

Anywhere in Ontario.

Somebody needs to brush up on canadian geography..

Brandon,

Ottawa is a gorgeous city.. has that big small city feel.. and a short drive into quebec for skiing or cabin staying.

of course if you want real mountains (sorry Appalachians) head for Banff in Alberta, some gorgeous scenery there.. far enough away from stuff but still close enough.

Or as others have suggested hit up vancouver.

I myself, would love to go to the Yukon..

So.. here's my plan... I want to either hit up Banff... or Jasper National Forest...

So... now, what airport would I fly into for these two places?

the cheapest way is to fly to Seattle, and then take the greyhound from seattle to vancouver. virginamerica has flights for like $99, and the bus ticket is $25. cant get much cheaper than that!!!!

I know Vermont isn't in Canada....But it's a good 1-2 hours from Toronto.

eh... I'd rather spend a couple hundred bucks more and fly all the way.

My final destination will be Banff or Jasper... or Whistler (where's that?)

Closest airports to those places? I hear Calgary is close to Banff.

Fly into Calgary, take a bus to Banff...about an hour away. The town is quaint and friendly although kinda touristy at times. You can stay at the Banff Springs Hotel which is simply amazing or pick an idyllic cabin. You'll love it, I promise you.

That right there sounds like the best idea yet.. thanks.

I'm in Fernie next week, but then that just a little over an hour's drive away.

Where I live, there's hardly a reason to go anywhere to "get away".
