"Dead Week" - A film by Kyle Stebbins (and company)

Tim, Luis and I have been invited to Austin to screen O2 and to attend the famous party that VooDoo Cowboy Entertainment puts on each year (open bar, tacos, tattoos and 3 bands). Promises to be an amazing weekend and we'll definitely get pix and post them here.

Anybody know any board members from Austin that we could say "hi" to while in town?

I absolutely LOVE that poster. So simple, yet so stylistic. Brilliant.

Plenty of users down there to meet up with I'm sure.

Wanted to bump this with the poster for Mark and FM. I immediately replied after his post and it jumped us to the next page.

Kyle,

I also really loved that poster design as soon as I saw it. I went on line and checked out the designer and figured that you would probably appreciate some of the interesting design concepts he has: http://cityonfire.dphoto.com/

The VooDoo Cowyboy guys know what they're doing. They had a film in Sundance and have some really interesting projects in the works. The actual party invitation came in a big mailing tube and was a full-size version of the poster.

It was a good reminder of how important image and marketing are. Kind of motivates me to get on the stick to get our website redesigned and begin developing some effective and interesting identity materials. No matter how talented you are, if you don't package yourself accordingly you will be seen in less of a light. That damn Zack Forsman and SABI have that figured out and we need to try to climb into a mindset closer to theirs ourselves. It's ok for all of you guys to identify us as the quirky dudes who provides sleeping floor space and beers to all our friends who come crew our projects, but we probably shouldn't paint that image when we are taking meetings.

Anyway, we hope to do some serious pitching and schmoozing this weekend, as well as learning a lot from the VooDoo Cowboy crew.

Forsman and SABI definitely have a great look. Their design skills are second to none.

I'd be happy to help any way that I can, Mark. I think we can get you guys going.

Great news, Mark! I wish I could make it out too. I have family in Texas and would try and coordinate a trip to visit them with this one but not only is really short notice but it is just not feasible at this juncture.

I am looking forward to the new design, etc. As always, holler if you need any help, although I don't know what I could do for you on that end. :) On a personal note, for some reason these last few weeks have been idea city for me. I now have six ideas for features, four of which I just came up with in the last 14 days or so. I am going to write them all down and then, when I have time, start on the scripts. I don't know if anyone cares about my updates, maybe you guys only want me here for the jokes and post-then-think attitude.

I'm back from Seattle. I had a great time and really appreciate those who followed me along for the ride. =) It's great country up there.

Looks like the boys are down in Texas (or at least were for the weekend). If you haven't checked out the voodoocowboy website I suggest you do.

There are pictures from Texas in the other thread. (Visiting the Monsters)

More storyboards for Dead Week coming soon.

Sorry to inform already-fans of Dead Week, but we here in Norfolk totally stole Kyle from focusing any energy on it last night to pitch him our new project. He and my friend Tim sorta ran off together actually...kinda made myself and Tim's girlfriend Leigh feel unneeded. Bastards.

Tim is a great guy. I really enjoyed meeting him.

I have a feeling that this little project of ours is really going to take off. From what I vaguely made out over Skype, I liked it. Tim is quite the artist, too.

I made him take a crack at the "The Artist" poster (for TwilightFest) -- Once he finishes it Nate will have to upload it to here. Quite impressive.

Another preproduction meeting tonight at a restaurant that is yet to be decided.
I will post photos later.

Look for a lock on the script in the next couple of days.

Man, I wish I could make it out to Nebraska. Your shoot is going to kick ass.

If I had money, connections, or my own plane I would hook you up and fly your ass out here, man.

No promises on just how kickass our shoot will be. Zombies are fun... but they're also messy, alarming, and high maintenance.
