"Dead Week" - A film by Kyle Stebbins (and company)

Kyle,

I really appreciated seeing those pictures. Especially the pic of Useless Bay. We were there in January shooting the Vienna Teng video:

That brings back such memories. ... We submitted the final edit to the label this week so we should be able to post a link to it soon.

I'm excited for you guys and for Vienna. The location was beautiful and I wish we could have seen it during the winter season when there were less people. I can't imagine hauling a piano out there like you guys did. The end result was completely worth it, though. Congrats on the locked edit, guys. I can't wait to see this video on the air.

We visited the beach out of pure chance. We knew we were going to the area and wanted to cross the fairy onto Whidbey Island, and it was icing on the cake to make a little trip over to Double Bluff to check out the filming site. The Petrich house was also a nice little added bonus. Our "guide" (relative) took us over Deception Pass and showed us around the area. About once a week he takes the fairy over to the island and takes a nap on the way over. It makes for a nice lunch break while he heads to Whidbey to meet with some customers.

I need to post some pictures of the guitars he builds. As I write there is an unfinished body of a guitar lying on his workbench in the garage (right behind where I am sleeping for the night). His family has been great to meet and I look forward to many more conversations over breakfast and lunch tomorrow (which are promising to be big meals!).

It ain't too bad out here but I'll be ready to come home by thursday.
Thanks for joining me for the ride

Sounds like a fun trip Kyle. That whole area is just so beautiful. Would love to see some pictures of the guitars. Guitar building (luthiering?) has always fascinated the heck out of me. Getting wood to bend into such beautiful shapes is one thing, but then it makes music?!?! Wow.

Um, here's the two definitions of "fairy":

1) A tiny imaginary being in human form, depicted as clever, mischievous, and possessing magical powers.

2) Slang Used as a disparaging term for a homosexual man.

Guess which one I intended to refer to :)

THat one up above sure doesnt seem to be imaginary or tiny... doenst look all that clever either... hmmmm... I guess that narrows it down...

 I am going to refrain from comment on this issue. I had written a comment, but decided it was best for some if I deleted it and replaced it with this totally useless explanation of nothing.

Saw Bruce Lee's grave today:

Also made our rounds to Pike Place Market where I bought a couple of great vintage posters at the paperworks store. I'll try to get copies of them on here as soon as I can.

We also went to the Space Needle and the EMP (Experience Music Project). I have some crazy pictures from there, too. My laptop battery is about to die but I wanted to check in with everyone.

How we doin!?

We doin good, tfhanks for askin! :)

It is good to see you are having a good time, Kyle. I can't wait for more pictures. Someday you will have to visit Coarsegold and we can go to Yosemite, it really is a lovely place.

Tim, Luis and I have been invited to Austin to screen O2 and to attend the famous party that VooDoo Cowboy Entertainment puts on each year (open bar, tacos, tattoos and 3 bands). Promises to be an amazing weekend and we'll definitely get pix and post them here.

Anybody know any board members from Austin that we could say "hi" to while in town?

I know, I should have posted how shameful and half-assed it was like I originally intended.

I'm just heckling ya! I know you did it in a jiffy!

I'm heading back to Lincoln tomorrow at which time the regularly scheduled preproduction meetings for Dead Week shall return to full swing.
