Feature Film?

Hey everybody I am new to this forum so take it easy haha, I was just wondering if you think it would be a good idea to produce a feature film on a XH-A1. I was thinking about getting one or a HVX200. The only problem is that the workflow with the hvx is so damn expensive. My main concern will be to catch the "film" look, I just do not know if a XHA1 can do that for a feature film. So if anybody can help me out with this I would really appreciate it. I live in South Florida and would like to start on this project so if anybody is close or wants to travel to collaborate just let me know. Thanks All

Any camera can achieve a "film" look if you know how to use it. The key is lighting and set design, not the camera. Feature films can definitely be shot on an A1.

yes and they already are, crank 2 starring jason statham I believe

I think they will be using various adapters etc but it is definitely a canon xh-a1

To my understanding it's actually several cameras including RED, other video cameras and perhaps even film. Yes the ever-annoying mixed media/oliver stone head trip style of filmmaking. ADD'ers rejoice... :badputer:

I read they were using a whole slew of point and shoot hd cams as well for weird sequences and to be able to throw them them around and such, interesting to see how it comes out.

The XH-A1 is essentially the unoffical camera for people that want an HVX but can't afford it :) You're in the same boat as many people and if you get the XH-A1 its unlikely you'll be disappointed.

Honestly pretty much any of the pro 24P HD cams available these days is capable of shooting a feature. Or to put this way, if your XH-A1 movie sucks, your HVX movie would have sucked too ;)
