firefox 3 download day

I've used the release candidate briefly, but will wait for the Debian developers to finish the final Iceweasel release before I'll use it daily.

I am grabbing the Windows version of Firefox now to include in the next version of my FreedomSampler CD (There isn't a pre-compiled version of Iceweasel for Windows at the moment, and I haven't had the time to build one myself).

Regardless of branding, Firefox / Iceweasel beat out Internet Explorer any day.

Why do people think FF is the second coming ? Firefox didn't re-invent the wheel and it isn't drastically different than IE as it is.

Interesting read ?

Judging strictly by the sheer volume of vulnerabilities Mozilla Firefox was the most insecure browser in 2007, according to Symantec. Firefox had a total of 122 security holes, more than any other rival browser.

What are you? The Grinch? :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) Ah, hell, I use Safari...

In other words: 95% of the world's computers run Windows. 100% of those computers have IE installed on 'em.

lol. I use safari. It came with my mac.

but seriously ... i have to use firefox for some websites ... like Allstate.com, apparently Apple doesn't want you to pay your car insurance.

studies also show that patches are released faster for firefox and that internet explorer is targeted by malware more frequently because there are so many people using it. so even though there were more vulnerabilities discovered during 2007, that doesn't necessarily mean it was less safe.

either way though, it doesn't really matter. people should use whichever they prefer.

I had more security problems when I used IE. I totally agree with Ugafan, use whichever you like and feel better with and enjoy a good ride in the internet. DVXuser looks the same in both.........

There are things, like Java and Flash, which are unreliable in Firefox. I stopped bothering to try to print international postal labels from PayPal with it because it crashed or locked up 2/3 of the time. Never fails in IE.
