What's your day job?

I have a film and video production company in Central Asia. Mostly corporate video and documentary, but more and more TV shows and films.

I am a DoP, Steadicam Op, Editor. Full time.

Drummer, bass player by night. I think I'll keep my day job...

To be honest I didnt even pick this field. It sort of fell in my lap. I was 18 years old and I got an offer to work as a soundman for top documentary cameraman in Europe (I knew sound because I was a hobby musician, but honestly I wasnt even qualified to do the job). He and I traveled the world for 8 years. I learned so much from him, worked my way up the ranks and decided to move to LA to work for Major Motion pix. Did that for 6 years and moved to east coast because we've never been there before. So far so good. Couple more years and I think I'll go back to LA.

I don't really have a day job as I am freelance, but i do Web Development, Camera OP primarily. Currently developing a new flash player with full admin area and control that works with many of the popular CMS (Wordpress, Joomla, etc...).

I have also built a studio for an online web series and can build pretty much anything out of anything.

Looking to go to school this fall and word towards a Bachelor of Arts.

I write on assignment more than anything now and it pays the bills, along with a headshot business I stay pretty busy. Couldn't be happier doing what I love and getting paid for it :)

Present real estate investor, former antiques dealer, former coin laundry operator. Have always enjoyed film and video and finally getting to do it full time, more or less. Glad to know I'm not the only one who doesn't depend on video for a living!

Freelance ad writer/creative director (www.jasonfox.net) who's looking to dive back into the wacky world of agency life (so if anyone knows anyone...). Have a line one making the switch to directing, but it's stalled out at the moment.

“Pulling a Penguin” Pronunciation: [pen-gwin] –noun

1. Term originally coined by Tom Marshall [1] on the online Internet Filmmakers Forum known as DVXuser, in Liu of the actions of the member Nick Lane alias Conspiracy Penguin. The act of “pulling a Penguin” refers to bringing to light an old thread; sometimes this can lead to confusion amongst other members. The term can be augmented with a phrase to indicate how old the thread is, examples include the use of “Mega Penguin” to denote a very old thread, as well as the use of “Wee Penguin” to denote a slightly old thread and other general combinations of that nature.

By day I do commercial insurance inspections and I have a freelance photography business... hopefully soon enough I'll transition into full-time wilderness adventure photography/videography. I like ice-cream.
