So, I was driving home tonight (I was about 25 miles from home, and it took a good 45 minutes to get home) I turn on the radio and guess whose on.
None other than Art Bell himself. I didn't catch if it was a rerun I never listen to his show, but there was this lunatic talking about the end of the world, and he was "psychic" or something. He said in 2012 the sun will destroy our electro-magnetic field on earth and there will be no Starbucks cash registers working to take orders and America will be defenseless etc. and China with 25% of the worlds population will rule the world. So he extrapolated on his theories of the sun destroying the ozone layer or something, causing huge heat waves, earthquakes, tornadoes, and so on and so fourth. My favorite bit was "200 mile per hour winds."
What I find more interesting however is that I was reading about this "2012" apocalypse this morning on the internet on USAtoday and NASA, something about every 11 years there is a cycle in the sun or something.
So who actually believes this crap? Can someone explain it better than what I've googled? It seems like a bunch of conspiracy nuts looking to sell canned beans and bottled water.
