XHA1 + LEX footage

IT JUST LOOKS AMAZING.
I just got my A1 and have been playing with presets...what presets did you have your camera on???
If you don't mind sharing with us :)

thanks in advance

holy ****.
Footage looks amazing.

I really want an xha1 but i'm a college kid without income haha.. My HV20 with a DIY 35 adapter does pretty nice work. Someday....

Here's my opinion:

XHA1 HD footage quality has always impressed me far more than the HVX has. Having said that, the HVX's colors are so god-damned beautiful that sometimes I wonder if it's worth the extra dollars.

But, at the end of the day, if you know how to shoot with an XHA1 and you understanding lighting, CC, and basic post techniques, you'd be a fool to choose the HVX over the XHA1 unless you really wanted the tape-less workflow of the HVX.

Clearly this is a "DVX" forum, so I expect to take some heat for this post, but I don't really care. If this was a neutral forum, people would be using the XHA1 just as much as the DVX/HVX.

I agree. Aside from the benefits of dvcpro-hd itself, I think as a camera head the A1 is better.

I agree, the colors are amazing however I have seen the A1 capture some really nice images at night and I just know the HVX would have too much noise. But before this becomes another VS thread, I work with DVCPROHD and use lots of P2 accesories and the workflow is just too good to pass up. Heres hoping for Canon to go tapeless soon!

the footage is beautiful.....just, absolutely gorgeous. this is the kind of stuff that really makes me want to get a 35mm adapter to go with my xha1.

Makes me want to go to Zwitserland.
Like the kid, the mercedez coming in and driving of.The music reminds me of a documentary i worked on last year which aired in the Netherlands .It was about brazilian PorkKnockers/ golddiggas.

you guys should try the truecolor preset. From my trials and errors, i have found it to allow xha1 + LEX to resemble film the most out of all the presets.

this image was taken with the xha1 + LEX, trucolor preset, and some desaturation and curve adjustment in post.
