I posted this link for someone in the technical section but figured I would post it up here for everyone to check out. I stumbled upon this German filmmakers trailer on youtube. It is in the grindhouse style and looks stunning.
You can't honestly make that comment based on a you tube half arsed butchered and re rendered to the point where it looks like on of those crap pirated cam movies that get around before the movies release date.
I would only comment on such a thing if I were to see to original DV print. You tube should be banned!!!! Its totally a pathetic medium for viewing movies on.
I seriously think its some great shots, but the best is why I said naaa.... I have seen lots of fantastic DVX footage, I cant say there is actually a "best".
This is the best that I have seen. When it comes to emulating the film look, I think they nailed it. Granted the dust was obviously digital. However I could have been fooled into thinking that it was shot on 16mm with some added degredation in post. And I shouldnt say best, I really enjoyed the fake trailer "meth". I just find that most dvx footage that is trying to emulate the look of film, looks flat and has an extreme color balance.
Side topic, I have been trying to get a look dialed in to my dvx similar to that of no country for old men. What does everyone think the best scene settings would be for easy correction in post?
