The RED One comes in Monday and then we have a week to play with it before the first shoot.

UPDATE!
The City and Film Comissioner approved our insurance waiver! We can shoot without having to get it! That means we are a go!
 
You've got a whole week to play with the Red...come on dude...You know you just need to whip up another script and short something else during that time :) You can't waste any Red days. :)
 
Could it be? This could be the day I actually see the Red in real life! We will see if it arrives as Red has promised Justin at Blare Media. If so, then tonight we shoot test footage! I'll let you know what happens!
 
Tonight we built the button prop needed for Push. Here is a picture tour of its creation. Pictures aren't the best but you get the idea. Enjoy!

We check out the Red One Tomorrow. We will be deciding what resolution to shoot with. We are using a PC workflow, so it makes things more difficult. I am also trying to gather funds to rent a Steadicam that can support the Red. Anyone have one that wants to jump in?:2vrolijk_08:
Oh...and in the meantime Mark and I slide ever closer to financial ruin.:violin:

Didn't I see on your User Films thread that your co-producer closed funding and that the only question was when the funds would arrive? Can't you use that as security for a loan?
 
We all hope this is what occurred and that the check would come to our producer speedily, but as most of us in this industry know, money is never real until it is in your bank account, and many promises cannot be believed until the promised result occurs. It is sad but true. I am blessed to be working with Mark and Jen who are different than this, but it is still prevalent in the industry. If that money occurs, then Mark and I will definitely head upwards from financial oblivion. For now things seem bleak, but as Mark and I love to quote:

We will just keep holding on and we will ride out this tide and remember these trials as moments that refined us and shaped us into the Moviemakers and people we want to be.
 
UPDATE!

I traded some equipment for the rental of a Glidecam V16 for 12 days.
It will hold the Red and we will test today!

Matt and the guys are messing with the Steadi-cam on the RED as we speak. I am currently working on my screenplay for Fish Bomb so I am missing out on the Red-irificness that the guys are enjoying, but that is okay, I am enjoying the story that I am writing... I can't wait to see what happens next!!!!

I appreciate the trade Matt! (The V-16 we are using is IMG's. It is working well. We played with it for hours tonight balancing the Red. RED did not send the correct attachments for the camera, so my engineering father is having to develop a way to mount the camera to the steadicam and enable a way to make the follow focus mountable and functional. Good times!!! :thumbsup:
