using MXF files in ADOBE CS3 premiere pro CS3 and after effects CS3

I have one word: AUDIO.

The process never mentions audio, and the audio has to be imported separately. This is not true in Premiere.

Can anybody confirm that the mxf audio related files do not automatically import?

Are you talking about in After Effects? Because I've been able to import video and its conjoined audio just by selecting the video MXF. I'm also able to copy a clip from PPro and paste it into AE, and the audio follows along.

In Premiere Pro CS3 it works like you'd expect -- you import the video MXF and it automatically brings in all the audio too. Don't know about AE.

Well yes and no.... If you import the MXF video file it drags in the Audio with it.... Or u can go to the audio file in the P2 folder and just import the audio by itself.

I use both after effects cs3 and premiere pro cs3 and import the MXF files with sound without a problem in BOTH programs.

My work flow is so dam easy with MXF in ADOBE at the moment. Now if you buy CS3 after effects or premiere pro CS3 make sure you download the latest upgrade.... Because MXF files wont run without it....

Hope this answers your question.
I just have one word ; THANK YOU!

LOL thats two words but no problem

Well, when the original update came out, it seem to bring the associated audio.

Some audio imported, but it was only two tracks, and the waveform indicated that it seemed like background only

Just tested it again and the audio came in correctly.

Sounds like user error to me by me.
