****ing thanks, guys. i've been ****ing cutting a ****ing home video trailer for You Don't Mess With The ****ing Zohan all weekend (aka Hell on Earth!!) so I haven't been able to get back to IFHY. but it's pretty much a ****ing given that the first ****ing scene/first ****ing act is getting the ****ing axe.

JDS, yeah, i'm still in a Heart of Now headspace. and probably will be for the next year as we cut it. in Heart of Now, the color orange holds a purpose... it shows up as a visual cue for anything associated with the main character's desire for a sense of family. here, it uh... well, in the full 8-9 minute version we would have seen two characters' worlds, one cool and ordered, the other hot (aka orangish) and chaotic. nothing deeper than that, though.

thanks guys, now your anticipation is making me nervous.

Zak, I haven't checked out you thread but I intend to. I just wanted to say... That is one crazy title, bro!

I really like the lighting in the grabs. Looking foward to seeing what else you've done in this one, as well as "Heart of Now."
 
Hi Zak. Looking forward to both your films. I find the approach to the film that you describe to be very interesting. And you finished really early, so that's definitely a plus as far as refining the film. Can't wait to see it.
 
Matt Garrett said today that he thinks people will be surprised by this one, because it's not what people are likely to expect from me...

...which got me curious... i should ask what he means by that. but it got me thinkin'... what do people expect to see when they click play on this one? go ahead, speculate.... i'm curious to know...

..and i'll let you know how close you are...

I don't know Zak? This should be interesting... to say the least. I'm looking forward to seeing what you've done. Did I understand that you worked with some of your 'house' actors?
 
yeah, you know... you work with people, you like working with them, so you work with them again. some might call that building an ensemble, but that would indicate a claim of ownership in some way and that's not the case. "preferred collaborators" is a better way to put it.
 
Now, this isn't for my LoveFest entry. It's for two guys who
were the key to creating and capturing the look and feel I wanted
for Heart of Now. To return the favor (in the smallest way),
I opened up my studio to them for casting and post editorial
on a LoveFest entry of their own.

So the other day, while Zach Sheehan and Matt Garrett were
at the Sabi Studio putting the finishing touches on their first cut,
I took the opportunity to ask them a few questions about their short.
