Hey, just thought I'd throw this little test of muzzleplug up. Sorry about the watermark every time he shoots, I cant afford the full retail version :-(. Yes, I know the editing is terrible and one of the FX shots just... sucked, but it wasn't even planned. I was just like (hey Rowin you wanna go shoot some shi*?" and we just sorta.... shot some shi*:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG). Also i need to work on the audio mixing a bit.


My thoughts on MP:

Oohlahlah! IT does a very good job of recreating muzzle flashes inside AE. My problem with all these FX software packages is that they require you to use yet another program, wich just gets in the way of workflow IMO. Anyway, MP makes flashes that blend properly into your footage and dont look "overdone", provided you use it right. It has a ver.... screw it I'll let you see for yourself.

it was pretty good for just messing around. i like how its like a 10 year old boy running around shooting a gun
 
that was sweet
but i think you need to find a new way to compress...looked choppy to me. Maybe its my computer though.
 
Haha! That kid is hilarious: "I hated that box from the start" <-brilliant!
This the most amusing thing I have seen in a long time(I mean that in a good way), it's like he's straight out of Menace to Society and Judge Dredd at the same time(that laser gun scene cracked me up and apart) :)
Funny stuff man, that kid is a keeper!
 
Truly is, I have watched it like 8 times now, and I'm still laughing.
Hope to see more of that kid :thumbsup:
 
I think it looks great. My only comments would be about the slow mo. Plan your slow mo shots, shoot them properly and then use a good post-prod slow mo method. Other than that, great stuff.

I assume the kid is your brother. He did a great job.
 
I'm very new to teh AE aniamting scene, but is it hard adding the muzzle flashes?
Do you go by animating it's angle and placement frame by frame?
 
Devon, yes, I know the slow mo BLOWS. I was planning on using Pixlemotion frame blending but it completely ****ed up the image. I think its time to watch andrew kramers tutorial, again. Thanks tho mate ;-)!

Smettli, whatcha do with muzzleplug is for single pistol shots is use the emitter toggle box and keyframe that on for one frame. Auto weapons would be a bit diferant. And yes, for this i just animated the placement of the emitter using keyframes on the same frames that the flash would appear.

haha lol yes he can.

he says he wants to do another one, so today were gonna add a little more to the story (and do it better on my part, with good slomo :-O!)) and such so keep an eye out :-D!

120th shutter, 24p or 30p and slow using twixtor or AE ;).


It didnt work out so well shooting today, but we got some funny clips to just mess around with.
