Any plans to ship 32gb p2 with new HVX?

I am on the cusp of ordering my HVX200 package but was curious to know that if Panasonic has any plans to ship future cameras with a 32gb P2 card instead of the 16gb. With my luck I'll order the camera and the next week the announcement will come.

Well, ya pays yer money and ya takes yer chances...

But since history has a habit of repeating itself, my guess is that shortly before Panasonic is ready to release the 64GB P2 cards it will offer the 32s as a rebate or in-the-box freebie, like they did first for the 8's and then the 16's. IIRC that is supposed to happen sometime late this year.

Panasonic has never supplied a P2 card with the camera. you'll just have to play the rebate lottery, or buy a bundle from a dealer.

Isnt there a Panasonic ad on the main page of this forum advertising a free 16gb P2 card with purchase of an HVX200? IIRC it clearly states, no rebates, no hassles, its in the box!

For clarification, as everyone's saying: any new HVX200 from a US authorized Panasonic dealer does indeed include a 16GB P2 card *in the box*. No mail-in rebate necessary.

arrrggghhhh - all these "should i buy now or?..." discussions are really daft. if you NEED the camera - BUY THE CAMERA, and RENT cards or firestores or whatever... if an extra grand is gonna make the decision to buy or not - you dont really NEED it to begin with.

i bought my HVX when i decided my xl2 still had enough market value to sell. bought my 8gig p2 card when i booked enough work to justify it. bought my 2, 16 gig cards when i booked enough work to justify them. no consumer is gonna outsmart the market. buy what you NEED when you need it.

Exactly! These cameras are like computers - you know in advance something better will be available for the money in 6 months, but if you need it today you need it today and that's it.
