Slow motion, time lapse, and frame rate hack footage

I love Autumn for the reason it looks amazing when captured like you did! Great job! which was the hacked 2fps part? The driving sequence?

Both the driving sequence and the intersection traffic clip used the hack. The
traffic clip had the "streaking headlights" look I was trying for- but the driving
sequence did not. Shutter angle was set at 350 for both, lens wide open.
I may have neglected to enable syncro scan for the driving one, which I guess would explain the difference. I drove the whole way holding the cam on the dash with my right hand and driving with the left- must be an easier way!

Thanks for the comments on the slomo autumn clip, that's one of my favorites.

Nothing to it - just go into the menu and set for interval recording, usually either
1 frame per second or 1 frame every 2 seconds for faster moving footage. If you want that nightime streaking headlights look, though, it's a bit more complicated- must use the frame rate hack (HVX). Don't know if this is possible on the DVX as I haven't owned one.

I have uploaded high quality QT files before, but at 30-50 megs and the associated loading time, few people bother to look. I find Vimeo to be a
good compromise- better than youtube, decent quality.

Nice shots! But you could have uploaded a better quality version.

What's the purpose in saying this? You either appreciate someone posting their work or not, but that sort of comment is just rude. We all wish we had the ultimate fast speed site to host our amazing quality images for everyone to see, but hey I think we all are able to see what was offered for the rest of us to see.

this is really old thread, but i should mention, you should never point your lens into the sun. it lowers the quality and precision of your CCD. I have a friend that filmed for 10 seconds with a green laser pointer (which puts out about 5x the UV that the sun does in it's green light band) and after he captured that video, and shot another one, all his colors were washed out, and he got major ugly smearing. He ruined his CCD making that one video. I told him he was dumb for not looking it up first, but shooting into the sun will do the same, especially if you are doing time lapse which means you leave it in front of the sun for a long time
