Mounting your FSC-100/FSC-60

Hi,

I'm just wondering for those of you who use a Firestore with you XHA1 where/how you mount it?

I'm looking into getting one very soon and want to figure out my options for securely mounting it. I really like the real rail mount things I've seen, but I'm trying to figure out the actual products that are involved in setting up something like that.

I use a little hot shoe adapter for now. Like this:

The holster itself came with my FireStore. It had an attachment for a belt clip which is too dorky (even for me).

The hot shoe adapter is a $20 item available at any camera shop.

Hello Kellen,
No I can't control the settings once it is mounted under the camera. What I do is turn it on and set it to sync slave then push it back under the camera to lock in position. The only control I have is record and pause once it is under the camera.

I got the hotshoe adapter with mine. Its the field kit comes with the holster, extra battery, and hotshoe adapter. Like this set up here

That looks like a pretty good deal. So are you using the FS4-ProHD, FS4-Pro, or the FSC?

I've read around that people have had many issues by NOT using the FSC with their Canon. But I've also read that the FS4-ProHD units are now capable of receiving a firmware update for Canon.

Can you shed some light on your FS solution for your XHA1?
