HVX200 special offers ending tomorrow--what's next?

The current package of special offers included with the HVX end tomorrow on November 30 and I'm wondering what we're going to see next from Jan. Anyone think we'll see the return of a bundled P2 card? There are some changes in the HVX's market (ahem) and it seems the enthusiasm for the AB EllipZ was markedly less than for receiving a P2 card. It would be a good time for Panny to kick in a 16 GB P2 card, don't you think?

They just pulled the 16GB card bundles from the HPX500 .. it'll be interesting in deed to see what is next for the HVX200.

How about a clean price drop? :)

That would work--say $4995 MSRP instead of $5995, but manufacturers like rebates/add-ons because they give more flexibility to deal with changing market conditions. I think it's just as likely that Jan extends the current deal for another quarter while she watches sales, but it would be nice to see something a little more aggressive. I've talked to a lot of people on the fence about the HVX and the EX1 and it seems like you'd want to push those people off the fence and into your pasture. :)

Well, according to David S., he just got an e-mail from his dealer which says that they are indeed putting a 16GB card in the box.

From any Panasonic authorized dealer. Check the Panasonic web site for confimation later this week. Probably true, but you can't always rely on what dealers claim.

We heard a rumor about this but it is far from an official announcment so I would hold off spreading the good news.

When you hear it from us, you'll know it's legit.

Sorry to be a buzz kill.

Best regards,

Andrew Hoffman
