Woah...does this film suck...

I seriously doubt he feels threatened.
Being one of the highest paid screenwriters and directors of all time is probably enough to give you some confidence in what you're doing.

As a director I would love to talk with forums about my stuff, you reallythink he thinks he's to cool to talk to lowly people.

less that and more why would he choose to go somewhere to defend himself. The work speaks for itself. You don't like it, ok. There's no point in trying to convince the guy he did it wrong. He did it correctly, and you didn't like it.

Yeah, right. They posess hundreds, maybe thousands of years of engineering knowledge that has enabled them to traverse light years across the cosmos and they never came across water! Since hydrogen and oxygen are two of the most basic elements in the universe I find that HIGHLY unlikely. We know they are familiar with oxygen because THEY BREATHE IT. In fact, any species that breathes oxygen likely comes from an oxygen planet, which means it likely has water, which makes the whole concept of the aliens themselves even existing implausible. On top of that, hinging the whole climax on the fact that one of the characters has a habit of leaving glasses of half empty water lying around the house is lazy writing in the extreme. The film has some good moments and a decent set-up, but mostly seemed half-realized.

Hydrogen and oxygen are the two most basic elements in the universe? 90% percent of the universe is made up of black matter; a substance that we have no idea what the hell it is. You can't possibly speculate what makes up our universe when you can't study anything but what's around you, do you have any idea how big the universe is? The only reason you're thought what you know is because of the information that's available to you. There's no way of determining anything outside your norm. and if your just regurgetating what you've been told like a little robot, this world is going to keep on thinking what they want us to think. and they will never ever really know the ultimate truth, that it is not impossible and not too farfetched to believe that aliens can be allergic to water, Damnit!

I never said defend I said discuss. If anyone can do this try it and lets just see what happens. think about it wouldnt it be cool to have forum where big time director can talk with us DVXUSER would be the ultimate forum if they could make something like this happen. And none of that lets ask the moderator a question so that then he can ask, I'm talking about I type it he reads it and chooses to respond or not.

I dunno; I remember the producers on seaQuest DSV being all excited about having a forum set up for them on-line...

...first time they showed up they got so badly mauled by the 'fans' that they ran away and never went back.

Every star you can see contains hydrogen. Now unless these aliens evolved in a place where there's no sun (NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE), they would know what hydrogen is. And since they breathe oxygen, well, the idea that they don't know what water is and that they'd be fatally allergic to it is absurd...Beyond that, it's just a STUPID idea. Even if they were as hyper sensitive to water as the film portrays, they wouldn't last one minute in our atmosphere. Ever hear of humidity? It's just hacky, bad writing.

you must have hated Gremlins.

Dude, lets stick with reality. Their metabolism automatically synchronizes with the time zone they are in. DUH!

If you go into a film looking to find little things that make it untrue, you will never enjoy it.

What about those deep sea worms that evolved using geo thermic energy? Their habitat is too deep for the sun's rays to penetrate.
