I have a bad feeling

Ya hit the nail on the head John!

I'm not trying to argue but maybe when you said this you meant conflict within the PLOT.
doesn't EVERY story have drama? if it doesn't... it's not really a story worth hearing...
That makes sense to me.

Otherwise, with "conflict" we are talking about just about everything ever made. From Bugs Bunny to The Godfather.

Okay, let's be rational about this: the festival name is "Love Fest". It's being timed around February 14th. The theme of the fest is very likely to be "romantic", obviously.

Just as Hallows Fest was "darkness", this'll be about romance.

However, if there's some loophole to make a "buddy cop" movie, Jack, remember our plan: we're casting Hudson and Shaun...

I love it how I have this tendency of starting threads that are like a hand grenade in a crowded room....

Naaah... Brandon's a good guy! If you can't discuss this sort of thing here then things would be pretty boring.

I think I'm clear on what he meant now.

Cheers,

Simply put, there are many forms of Love. Love can be an emotion, Love can be a noun. I think its best that we as filmakers interpret it in many different ways otherwise we're going to be downloading a heckuvalotta jennifer aniston wannabe sap crap.

In a surprising development ... looks like unlike hallows fest (restricted to creepy) Love fest is not restricted to Romantic ... buddy cop will work after all

Any kind of love is fine, but there's a limit to how far you can stretch the theme. Familial love? Definitely. A zombie's love for human flesh--don't make us DQ you. :)

Any camera is fine.

I mean it would have to be what the buddy cop short was about
"I love you man!"
"Grooooooooss." as they leap from the top of an exploding skyscraper to the safety of another roof.

So no incidental partners a la Dirty Harry, but you could do it under the category of "brotherly", the exploding toilet scene in one of the Lethal Weapons comes to mind. That's love.

Drama aside, if you look at films like Solaris [Remake] its a love story set against the backdrop of space.

There can be drama in a love story, and there can also be a love that arises from drama so I think anything's open.

This is going to be a great and challenging fest...
