How Many Hours of Sleep Do YOU Get A Night and Why?

I'm all over this. I moved into a new place on Beverly Glen in Westwood. Whatever you do, don't move to Beverly Glen Blvd. The traffic at all hours of the night is killin us. I sleep about 4 hours a night now and I'm always tired. Not to mention our neighbors find it more effective to take their midnight arguments to the sidewalk every night instead of inside. Guess they need air when they scream at the top of their lungs.

The good thing is, my new script has a large amount of hostile subtext, so the method writing is working.

I probably get around 7-8 hours during the week and 8-10 on the weekend. I needs my sleep!

Seriously, I'm dead in the morning if I don't get more than 6 hours.

Oh, I'm dead in the morning after 5 hours, every day. I'm a salty, caffiene-crazed nutjob. I fall asleep at work at my desk. Then night comes and I should be getting in bed and I'm stoked to have "me time," and do it all over agian. My cardiologist told me I wasn't helping myself one bit by not getting sleep. If we could just extend the day to 30 hours I'd be cool. Here's to winning lotto.

Apparently most people's natrual ideal biorythem is actaully based on 36 hours.
24 hours awake, and then 12 hours asleep.

I don't recall where I heard that, but it was the result of some long term tests with subjects living in controlled isolated conditions, with no indication of the time.

I know that when I on occasion get the chance to disrecard the time for a few days, I can quite quickly slip into this sort of routine.

Wow you guys really get such little sleep? I didn't even think it was physically possible to sleep for such a little amount of time on a consistent basis. I try to get 7 hours of sleep at least, but it usually comes out to around 6. During the week I get between 6-7 and on weeknds I get 8.

Anything less than 6, like last night and I'm dead on my feet...like right now.

Sleep is my worst enemy now.

In high school, I could get four hours of sleep and be ready to go for the next day.

Now... I get eight hours of sleep and it feels like two. I'll be tired throughout the day.

It's really trying my professional and academic career and it puts a stopper on my hobbies.

No change in diet. No change in exercise. Just two years older.

LAME.

About 6 hours on a weekday, sometimes less. Generally on weekends I sleep in, so I probably get about 8.

Try 8.5 and 7.5hrs ... either one could make a HUGE difference.

School nights (like tonight) I get around 8 average. I used to get about 5 a night when I had basketball practice at 6:30 each morning, but I quit.

(just realized I'm not a "bball player" anymore)

On Friday and Saturday night, I get about 18 hours combined. If I get 2 hours of sleep Friday, I get 16 Saturday or something close to it.

Over the summer I lived off of around 5 hours of sleep a night. I can't imagine getting 5 hours of sleep a night and actually having to work. I have no idea how some of you do it.

It sucks ass. This summer i worked at a BSA camp, and even tho the directors had it set up so we were supposed to get atleast 9hrs of sleep, we usualy only got around 7 or less. Then get up and deal with little s***head kids. Every day for 5 weeks. The other week is setting up. Man that was an experance.

1.30am -> 6.30am

Coz I'm 101%, Legally, downloading NCIS to watch and make fan trailers on. Hence trying to avoid crappy coursework, learn after effects, magix movie edit pro 11 & work out my web domain crap.

Otherwise I just can't be fu(ked and not tired enough.

Here's a tip: cut your calories to about 1700-1800 a day (1500-1300 female) without cutting your nutrition (i.e. still get your protein, fat, carbs, vitamins and minerals) and you'll only need 5-6 hours of sleep a night. Plus you'll be healthier and live longer! It's called Calorie Restriction diet, and it's life-changing. More info:

disclosure: I'm not associated with CR Society in any way, but I do practice the diet.
