New forum user & first A1 footage

Hi,

I've been looking at this forum for a long time while I was doing my research about the A1. Finally, I bought it last weekend and I'm absolutely in love with it now!!

I haven't had much time to take it out and do some proper filming (mainly because of the crappy weather here in the UK) but I went to the botanical gardens yesterday and filmed for the first time. I've put some music over the footage, hope you like it!!

Thanks sb, Yes, it was filmed on 25f/hdv. no colour correction, just a bit of brightness/contrast adjusment.
I think that you won't get dissapointed with the A1. It's the first pro camera that I have and I'm enyoying very much with settings, etc.......amazing!!
 
wow, amazing footage. You have great control over your exposure, which results in the beautiful images you were able to achieve.

Questions, what were your preset settings? Your colors really popped and looked fantastic.

also, 1:35 mins of footage at that high res, that picture quality, and only 30 mb??? how the heck did you encode that?

If you mouse over the file, it says 3135 kbs, 1280x720. If you use those settings you should have the same quality and filesize.

the preset in the camera was the famous (thanks to the creator) "vividRGB" with a few minor tweaks to enhance certain colours in certain shots. I'm of the opinion that getting the colours right in camera at shooting time is very important as somehow colour correcting always gives it a bit of an 'unnatural' feel. I like shooting with low levels of exposure, so I've got a nice margin to work with in post.

I recently swapped over to Sony Vegas as I didn't know how to make AVID to work with canon's 25f and mate, I like it!! The settings for this video are just the ones for 'best quality'wmv.
 
Try again Kdawg. It wasn't working for me earlier this afternoon, but it's downloading upon a second try now.
