the compression made it look a bit shitty and i'm probably going to redo it coz there are a few errors and i have to add the voice over BUT it's another sample clip of my epic. Again, what do you think of the effects?

EDIT2: MORE AGAIN!!!!!!

so i've been a bit busy, my hv20 broke and i've got a new scene for all you guys and galls out there. i'm not sure where i'm going to use it but it's EIPC!!!!

the clip is basically a test of the gunshot effect. i colour graded the flash to fit with everything else and matted the hand and face to brighten. what do you all think of it? does it look real or credible?

The fire at the end looks fake to me but I have seen fake fire in many movies also. The muzzle flash looks like a fake one but I'm not sure. However the smoke looks real to me.

looks good but you need a little gun recoil...that would make it more convincing....and a shell casing flying from the gun would really be nice and help making people believe its real........cause you can hear the casing hit the ground but you cant see it fly from the gun........also if Johnny Q is a hitman or anybody that is supposed to be good with a firearm..then......you are firing the weapon wrong...you have to have proper finger placement....The proper placement is about half way between the fingertip and the first joint.

..being ex-military I kinda look for that type of thing in movies.........then i really get into listening to make sure its the right type of sound for that gun..........depending on the pistol or rifle and the caliber of round used.......also you can catch movies where they try to make a semi-auto into a full auto.......and the size of hole left also matters......

I would say just do research if you looking to make things as real as you can get.......try youtube or any video site and you probably find good examples to help........

but to the untrained eye and ear......it seldom matters.........most people get the point..........I am just a stickler on guns and military matters......I really hate it when they portray us military in the wrong way........

your welcome anytime.......I cant wait til October when I get my Mac so I can start doing some stuff......also I need to find a cheap Nikon lens for my 35mm adapter

I'm being picky here, but an explosion in space wouldn't look like that. There's no air to cause it to billow like that. It would just expand...

did yo get a new hv20 or plan to or are you going to use another camera for your production ?????

i think it was a great shot & the title looked great.

Drop the fire though, who needs cheap effects getting in the way.

it looks ok.

i'd like to see some actual acting, storyline, script, direction, etc.

but so far you're just using andrew kramer's visual fx tutorials.
