I just got it....noticed the stereo mic built-in to camera is - a little loose- . is that normal?
 
Absolutely normal, there have been multiple complaints about that, but it's no big thing the cam still rocks enough to justify it all. Congrats on the buy, you have the best HDV cam on the market now and welcome to the club :P
 
Whew! After reading his post, I checked mine. And yes it seems loose as well. BTW Just opened mine today!

How bad was the drop lordybob? Was it from a high elevation? I am being extra careful
with mine ever since I read your thread.

I have been toying around with it, nothing recorded yet. WOW, So far I love it. Its just a little intimidating right now. I am used to my DVX. I plan on giving it a test drive at football this weekend.
 
I really like where the iris ring location is on the camera. HD is amazing. Was shooting my movie room and I could actually see the texture of my walls from across the room. Now my walls are painted with a satin smooth finish, and I'm telling you I could see the texture of the drywall itself. A good make up artist is a must from this point on. Very detailed.
 
Sweet, Not sure how I'll sleep the next couple of days. lol I am like a kid in a candy store. Yeah I notice how much more ugly people look in HD. Its like your eye is drawn to the blemishes. I need to learn some softening techniques to be satisfied. Especially in wedding shots.
