Meeting Leonardo Dicaprio and Russell Crowe.

NOt Yet, I havent bumped into my next door neigbor yet and he said he had a surprise for me pretty soon. I just don't wanna go over and knock on the door and say hey ummmm you (I dont really know his name and I've been talking to him for a couple of months now it's to ackward to ask now) and just say

"hey remember when you said Dicaprio and Russle might come over to play the Violin and Chello with your boss and I can come over, and then last week you stopped me down the hall and said"

"hey omar you gonna be around next week, because I have a surprise for you"

It'll sound like Im just talking to him because of that. And I dont liek to be rude or unfriendly. So now i just take my time walking down the hallway of my building hoping to run into him when he comes out.

I think the best advice was on the first page, treat them like normal people. As long as there not stuck up little b@stards or anything which i doubt they are. Titanic guy is suppost ot be down to earth. As for bumping into hallway person again. I have no idea. I'd probably be doing the same as you, hanging around that place where you saw him last.

Yeah, that's why they call it "who you know."

Well...it was about what he could do. And taking an opportunity, to put what he could do, in front of someone who could potentially advance his career. At the time, he didn't know Steven S. any better, than any of the other security guards.

Speilberg definitely seems like he would be open to that sort of thing...considering how he got his start.

So Max - do you know alot of people that have gotten ahead by getting in front of people like that? I'd love to hear some more stories.

Well, that's not how you do it, anyway.

You pop over tomorrow (or whatever day you like) with a grocery bag full of chips and dip and those little wiener things.

If you luck out, and it's the right day, he's stuck.

If it's the wrong day...

You: "Oh, crap. I thought you said Sunday."
Him: "No, Tuesday."
You: "Damn. I gotta start writing these things down."

Or just tell the assistant guy that you are trying to schedule a dentist appointment next week and wondered what day he thought this was all happening as you were looking forward to meeting them. Nothing wrong with looking forward to meeting them as long as your eyes dont get big and scary and your body starts to shake when your saying it :) And if you go with the little weiners be sure and get toothpicks - cant get food on the cello/violin.

It's true - remembering the toothpicks for the little cocktail weiners demonstrates that you are a prepared kind of guy. The kind of guy we all want backing us up, on set!

We went to Vitello's a couple weeks ago for dinner - Italian craving...

...since the ownership changed, it's not nearly as good.

I agree! It's good but not great anymore. I recommend Spumoni (northwest corner of Ventura & Van Nuys)!

Alright. I say... screw it dude. Make yourself a set of buisness cards and tell them if they ever need a body moved. To call you.

hey you never know. Russel crowe looks like he may need some help moving his couch or something you know.

so. I guess he never met them

What a surprise! Here's my post from earlier in the thread:

"Riiiiight.

Piece of cake. You've got the best script in the world, and since both Leo and Russ play a mean... erm..."instrument", you could tell 'em you'll write a small part for a busker and the two of them can duke it out for the role. My money's on Russ.

As we can see, imagination is very important to a writer. Oh boy.
"

As I keep telling people: everything is probability - you make plans, decisions and you act all based on probability. Ask yourself: what are the odds? Just as in the case above - what were the odds? Exactly. Of course, I do know people who are shocked, shocked every time they buy a lottery ticket and do not win.
