Im so Gay

I get choked up during the Right Stuff when John Glenn tells his wife she doesn't have to let the Damned Vice President into the house if she doesn't want to.

Also Apollo 13 when Lovell's wife tells them that if they don't like the fact that she doesn't want the reporters on her lawn: If they have a problem they can talk to my husband. He'll be home of TUESDAY!"

The most emotional scene in that movie is when Lovell's Mom says to her grandaughter "Don't be afraid honey, if they couldget a washing machine to fly, my Jimmy could land it"

And yea, It's a Wonderful Life....I've seen it a hundred times...I know that scene at the end is coming, but it doesn't matter. I weep anyway. I guess I'll go get my thighs waxed and renew my subscription to Cosmo

Jim, I tend to lose it when all of Mission Control stands up and cheers when Lovell breaks radio silence. I'm with you, buddy.

I thought an emotional part in a movie I watched recently was Armageddon

The part where Bruce Willis is on the tv talkin to his daughter. I will say...i had a weird feeling in my stomach...or it could of been the everything on top pizza coming up for payback..

Father & Daughter scenes don't do it for me. Father & Son scenes tear me up. In Rudy when Rudy comes running out onto the field and they show his father just clapping... Yeah, that tears me up also.

okay, Armageddon is one of the most....ridiculous movies I have ever seen. But yea, when he gets that flash forward of her life, and when she reaches out to touch the screen....man.

And David, yeah, that's a great moment too. They held it just long enough. Great editing.

Who let all this friggin estrogen loose? Has my wife been on this site?

...It's a wonderful life you bet, but the scene where George and Mary are on the phone and he tells her he doesn't want to be with her...

What a scene that is!

King Kong didn't make me cry at all. I love animals, and Kong reminded me of my fat chocolate lab, but it just didn't tear me up. I felt for him, but I didn't feel immersed in the world.

Movies I have cried over:

Bridges of Madison County - When Clint Eastwood is standing out in the rain looking at Meryl Streep in the truck.

Ladyhawke - When Rutger Hauer and Michelle Pfeiffer are in that pit and they're changing form, they're trying so hard to touch each other between their transformation but they come up milliseconds short as the sun rises.

Blade Runner - I've seen things you people wouldn't believe... you get the picture

The Crow - When Eric Draven is sifting through and burning his old photos, and also when he's flashing back remembering how he was killed - another and probably the most potent is David Patrick Kelly's performance while he's getting killed in the car. "I know you, I knew I knew you. but you can't be you, we put you through the window. There ain't no comin back. etc Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is, felt how awful goodness is..."

Braveheart - FREEDOM!!!

Kill Bill vol. 1 - When Uma Thurman first wakes up in the hospital after the coma

The real reason why we cry with these movies is: Your DVD player releases freshly sliced onion vapours during selected scenes. it's the latest movie technology since Smell-o-vision!

I cried at the end of Alien 3....for Fincher and Weaver's careers.

Have you seen all the BTS stuff on the collectors ed. ? It's pretty eye-opening. I felt pretty darn sorry for Fincher.

no i didn't. studios pin him into a corner?

Yeah it was pretty bad. There wasn't even a complete script when he showed up to start shooting. He was the third director (i think) hired. And so on...

The poor guy started out three steps behind and with both hands tied.

Have you seen the directors cut in the quarilogy boxset. Totally different film, more to fincher's vision. It's so good and so much better then the theatrical.

Yeah that's what I meant when I said collectors edition. I knew I didn't get the name right.

I agree that version is much much better. Plus I always did like the look of Alien 3. If you study it closely, it's pure Fincher. The man practically defined a visual style in music videos in the 90's. he carried that over brilliantly into this film.

The Quadrilogy Box set has some outstanding BTS. You could practically call it a mini film school for sci-fi filmmakers

Seriously? What sort of stuff is covered? Technical? story? acting? I've been wanting to start a small collection of good BTS DVD's and am after recommendations. You think this would be up there near the top?
