32GB for the Panasonic P2!!

Well - they're listed at B&H with an approx arival of November.
But you can't even preorder yet.

So yeah - "available" seems to be a flexible term.

We are currently accepting pre-orders for the 32gb card, and eta's are not exactly known at this time. Recall the supply demand imbalance on the 16GB cards which made eta's fairly unpredictable even now. PM me if interested in pricing.

Can't wait for it to come down in price.

Next year when the 128GB comes out...Panasonic is really going to own the market for tapeless workflow.

128GB x 4 in a HPX2000 - 512 minutes of 1080i footage...you'll offload your camera like once a week!! haha

Probably a dumb question, but . . . will the current firmware updates handle the 32 gig cards or will there be an additional update forthcoming?

Also (and maybe dumber), is it fair to expect that all future larger P2's will work with our HVX-200's?

I'm pretty sure that no further firmware update will be needed. Of course, we'll find out for sure in November, but I thought Jan or the press release or someone said that no updates will be needed.

The latest firmware notes say that it inables 16GB and 32GB P2 cards. At least for certain products. I know the HPX2000 and HPM100 for sure have 32GB capability with the latest update.

The sales price for the 32GB is only suggested. How can you order them if no one knows the final pricing? They might drop it to around a grand...and if anyone ordered it before that...well...tough stuff.

Dropping to a grand? That only occurs on Christmas morning.

I don't see that 32 GB cards dropping at all until the 64s appear

We have a marketing bulletin from Panasonic that provides official pricing which is $1650.

Wait,
I thought DVXuser get the "Swap your 8s to 32s for just 399$!" special deal !

Sure...

I'm looking forward to larger capacity cards but the price is an issue at this point. I'm planning on jumping the 16 gigs and upgrade directly to the 32.
I'll keep our three 8 gig cards as emergency back ups.

Check the fine print. You have to give them one of your kidneys for that deal.

:cheesy:

:furious3: I traded my one kidney for a RED reservation on the bay (never got it, sth to do with PayPal...), do you think they´ll take my appendix instead ? :cheesy:
