The Book of Names rejected you at first. You must have done something nice for someone recently, or just gone to confession, or done whatever your faith of choice does to cleanse and fortify oneself against the inherent wickedness of man on which the book feeds.
But, in keeping with your wishes, I was intent on placing your mortal soul in danger along with the others ... so I kept re-submitting you until it was eventually accepted into the book. You must have sullied your temporary innocence and fortification against evil (several times over for that matter) for the quill's nib burned red as I inscribed your name in the hallowed leaves leaving the pungent aroma of sulfur in the air. :shocked:
Now I can't help but feeling a bit guilty for repeatedly trying to write your name in the book until it was accepted. Maybe I should have left well enough alone, for such a reaction is truly rare and surely means your particular suffering will be unparalleled even amongst the damned.
