Music video shot with the A1

Hey,

The A1 footage looks great...seeing that makes the decision to buy one alittle easier.

I thought it was good....the only thing I would have liked is to see some b-roll type stuff to break up the constant performance footage.

Pretty Sweet Man. What were your settings for the camera? I have a HV20 and I want to get close to that. I really liked the look of the slight old film look with the blue cast. How did you do that? I really think you should have added that effect to more shots it was the most cinematic looking. In the close up of them you might want to try and whiten there teeth a tad. Overall great video and I most say great editing also.

Hey guys, haven't been around much but I just finished this video for a local group. Zero budget, five locations, shot on two different days with absolutely no concept for the video. Totally guerilla tactics here. Cops came to shut us down twice but let us go ahead and finish after some creative chatting, avoided bullets from a gang shoot out across the street on day one and smelled more behind the scenes weed being burnt then Cheech and Chong during all of their career filming.

I'm pretty much finished editing but if anyone has any input then let me hear it. I'm curious to know what I can do to make this look better via editing style/color correction/effects.

26.6mb..... Compression chewed up the image so I'll put together a better/larger file this weekend.

Well, the visuals are pretty damn good.

At the end when they is all be shouting n thangs Mayn! There is some definite problems with the levels. It is clipping and hitting the ceiling.

You should use a dub of some sort.

That audio is not going to work.

All in All it's good.

They are talking about killing each other off so that is a good thing.

The bad thing is the innocents that will shed blood and the little kids that are there learning to come up that way.

But, sup to them I suppose.

Great work visually though!!!!

A+++ on that part

Great shoot. I have to admit that I find rap so monotonous that I could not watch it all with the sound on - because it was painful to listen to!

However, the guys should be pleased with that one - and it sounds like you had an interesting experience shooting it!

No money...? tell them to go sell some of their rims and pay you (sarcasm)... Because they got exceptionally more than what their budget paid for...

I agree with 'cecil995' on some more b-roll shots of guns maybe crime scene tape prison bars etc... It would help separate out the shots a little better...

My favorite shot(s) was the one where it is just a face shot middle of the screen and it looked very similar to shots seen in "The Inside Man". Color grading was close as well...

Anyway, overall looks exceptionally well...

I liked the ring light used in those close-ups.

I agree, they got more than they paid.

That is quite a presumptuous thing to say.

Seriously?!?!?!??!!?

For real!?!?!??!?!?!

The whole F'n song is nothing but a stereotype.

O.K. TELL THEM TO GIVE UP SOME OF THE HUNDREDS THEY WERE FLASHING.

P.S. I am sure they would accept any of your generous donations to pay for the video as well.

Like I said, to me they are merely making a public service announcement.

Ok, liked the video. Lets put that aside. Not to turn this into some debate about rap music (because I acutally like alot of it) but this song pretty much represents everthing that is bad about black and ghetto culture. Besides, they probably didn't own the vehicles or the $100 bills that were showing up on there anyways.

I watched Crash last night.

Maybe that's why I am being particularly anti-racism.

But yeah, I hate rap too.

Everytime someone puts up a rap video they get slammed for it. So kudos for just having the guts to put yourself up for that abuse ;)

Technically, the video is pretty good. The ringlight shots are definitely the best part. It is long on performance stuff though. More variation in the shots would have helped.

Guys, lets do our best to give our best critiques and opinions without trashing rap at every turn. After all, there are plenty of other music videos in other genres that have been posted here where the song was lousy. And they don't get trashed as much as the rap stuff.

never said that I hated rap...pretty much grew up with it. I just like to listen to some with more substance....more than just "i'll run up to you and shoot you" cliche garbage.

That being said...I like the video alot...like I said in my previous posts.

1. I loved the video the shots were great and the color was great.
2. The editing was great I think is one of the best I've seen here.
3. I could grab a guitar and start strumming...... it won't make it Country Music

Looks great.

I would love to hear more technical details about the shoot.

Lights, Lenses, Settings, etc.

Great job!

I got the Joke

I got the Joke

It was a joke... Usually I find that everybody wants something for nothing... Spending $3k on rims but want volunteer work.... Just from expierence...

I hear that (except for the weed and rims part). Artist will pay for everything but what really matteres. The video was so much better than the song it was for. I bet they paid for the studio time, & the track though.

Jay, you worked overtime foreal.

Good work!!!

Maybe, Maybe not.

Rap music is actually pretty damn good but like all genres it depends on the execution of the form ie music, message, delivery.

This is visually stunning, message is pure homicidal/genocidal crap.

Music let me listen again.... not bad at all. Pretty decent beat, good hook, like the rewind, like the vocals.... just crappy murderous lazy ass promoting drug dealing lyrics.

All I could think of when watching the Video was how much I would love to have tossed a grenade at em.

As far as their money.

Hard to say.

I live in the bay area and I personally know some gangsta ass mufukas who own free and clear mulitmilliondollar houses complete with cars and all.

Bottom line as art it is beautiful but as to message it is irresponsible.

As far as black, white, brown and asian... all the same to me.

O.K. So, Did you use and adapter? What were your settings, and the video is solid. The only real problem is the sound at the end. It is bouncing off the ceiling.
