How long on DVX Book/DVD and Magic Bullet

I just got my DVX100B on Tuesday and I have yet to mail in the form for the DVX Book/DVD and Magic Bullet software.

How long is it before people are getting their stuff. I don't want to wait too long.

My last mini dv camera was the Sony TRV-30 which was nice, but can't touch my DVX100B at all....anyway, I'm anxious....anyone know about how long I'll have to wait?


Barry, how about a loaner set until mine comes in the mail?

I sure would appreciate it......:laugh:

I meant how long from the time you send in your form, DVX receipt, and serial number from the box does it take to receive your DVX Book/DVD and MB software.
 
I have not received mine, and bought my cam over a month ago. I just went ahead and bought a copy from B&H.
 
At least 3 months.....and counting

Bought mine in April, filled out forms on the web, talked with the rebate rep on or about June 8th, said said she was processing, and still nothing- July 22nd.

I've learned to never count on anything that's not in the box. Cameras great, the company oversight no-so-great....

To be honset when I bought mine I was just happy soneone had them in stock....

Yeah....so much for "freebies"!
I purchased PP2 a few weeks ago. (still have'nt installed it yet). It came with "hours" of instruction on two DVD's. So I popped one in expecting to SEE some great instructional video.............................just MP3 audio clips on both disks. hahaha.

But.............it was free. : )

Here's the lastest on my 100b rebate:

Emailed rebate center today (7/24), reply was they were out of the Instant HD software and that was the hold up. She offered to send out the book and the Magic Bullet software now and then send out the remaining when it comes in.

Timeline:
Bought April 25th - From Amazon
Applied online approx April 29th
Confirmed processing of rebate with rebate center June 8th
Hopefully have at least the book by next week.

I just checked the www.usps.gov website..... The Priority Mail tracking says that my form and SKU barcode was delivered to the promotions processor in Memphis on June 6th.......
Gee... I'm dazzled with the service..... Today is the 24th of July...

Well.... it's almost sixty days since they received my completed form and product code bars, etc. in Memphis....

I can almost remember the sound of that little guy playing the fife in the background, and the warm, fuzzy, patriotic feelings of buying the "Official" Panny USA package.....and getting the Barry Green Book... and the Magic Bullet Software...

Yeah... right! ..... Gee, I wonder what I could have done with the $400 I would have saved if I had bought my DVX-100B from one of those guys on E-Bay?

On the advice of forum members, I bought the book when I bought the camera. I was not aware of the promotion and I'm glad I did. I sent mine in in the beginning of May and I'm not counting on ever receiving it. If I do, I'll sell it.
My advice, buy the book. It's worth every penny and then some. When you get it, read it over and over until you only need it for occasional reference.
 
Panasonic rebates are worthless- worst of any business I've ever had a rebate for. Do not count on them, buy the book yourself and just think about the great camera and not their lousy rebates. I'm heading towards 4 months, and I've contacted the rebate center several times- worthless.
I picked up a second DVX last week and tossed the rebate crap out.

I sure hope I never need servicing, though we're talking rebates here it still speaks loudly about customer service.

Sigh...... And considering that I am going to be sending my DVX-100B into ReelStream for their Andromeda RAW conversion (which will void the dubious warranty anyway...), it really does make the gray market cameras look a lot better....

I guess I'll go ahead and buy the Barry Green book. IF Queen Jan's loyal minions ever produce a rebate copy, I can probably sell it around here at a discount....

Well.... It's been over 120 days since the "fulfillment" house in Memphis received my form, sku bars from the box, etc..... and still no book or software.

I'll be buying an HVX-200 after the first of the year...... from one of the dealers with 15,000 plus positive feedbacks on E-Bay.

Panasonic builds good equipment in Japan..... and sells it all over the world.

I'm not quite sure what Panasonic USA does... but it sure isn't worth the extra money for their puff, fluff, and inaction...

Has anybody received a promised "Freebie" from Panasonic USA in the past 90 days?
Just curious....

Thanks for your generous offer...... I've already got the book. Obviously, as a new DVX-100B owner, I wanted to learn all of the "ins and outs" of the camera..... while it was still what could be considered as "New".

It is just infuriating to listen to all of the warm, fuzzy stuff that Panasonic USA puts out..... you can almost hear the little kid playing the fife in the background.... and then see the reality of what their "Promotions" actually mean....

I got my DVX in late May and filled out the rebate form online and it took them about 20 weeks (from June 5 to Oct 18th) to get it to me even though on Panasonic's site it says that the "typical" delivery time is 6 to 8 weeks.
