16 gig P2 cards

and how about 775 for the 4 gig cards when the cam came out... sounds like a lot of the johnny come latelies are being a wee bit spoiled.... But I wouldn't change my bleeding edge camera for anything.. I couldn't imagine now having it for this past 16 months and the 2500 cards worth of crap that has flown through the cam...! I've filled up my 5th 500 disk book this week... YIPPEE!

My three 16gb cards are supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I cannot wait to use the HVX! I was on the list at Abelcine for about 2-3 weeks and they contacted me on Thursday of last week to let me know they had them. Tomorrow will be a very good day.

People keep your pants on! What I intended to mean, was that if an authorized reseller sells the cards for more than what panasonic has them listed for because of a shortage or what ebay is getting for them, that ain't right. Basically they were selling the cards for $800 bucks on friday, and then $900 on monday. It's still what panasonic lists as retail, so no big deal. Just looking for a deal. Call me spoiled, call me a newbie. No argument here. At the end of the day it's still a camera.

That called supply and demand.

Don't like it, don't buy from them.

Any time, junior, now brush your teeth and get to bed.

Will you tell me a story about the old days when the 4GB P2 card cost a million zillion dollars, and what life was like before the HVX. I promise I won't post any more stupid opinions...I promise, I promise:)

Oh lord I just made a little smiley face at the end of a post. There is absolutely no hope for me.

I can tell you that I had to walk 15 miles, uphill, both ways, in 5 feet of snow, just to get to the only telephone in town. I'd call up New York and order my $10,000 4gig P2 card. It was then sent via the pony express. Three months later it was delivered to my door.
Then the great depression hit and I had to sell it for some cans of beans.

:violin:Those were the days.

Haha, no worries, broken jack. I'm just havin' a little fun.

Also, little known fact, the Panasonic rebate dept is still using the pony express to this very day... :)

Back to real news. I just got off the phone with the nice folks over at Abel Cinetech, and if you can wait a week, it sounds like they will be getting a big shipment in of the 16GB cards. Also he said the Hoodman cards would be in before that.

I got my 16gb card in under a week from taperesources.com. I would call and tell them you want to place an order for the card. She said they (Pane) was favoring hvx200's with a high enough serial number that no firmware was needed. My was, I gave her my serial number and got the card within a week. They didn't have it in stock at the time either.
They are a very small company and have excellent customer service. I buy all my tape stock from them. Plus you get free M&M's with your order!!

B&H has 4gb P2 cards in stock

Just what the title says. Not a good price though..

Has anyone actually seen a real "test" Hoodman P2 card? I'm still doubtfull it'll be out soon, or if it actually exists!
I would think there would be beta ones out now that magazines or such could review so we know if it really works or not.

Im surprised this goes unnoticed.....you got some hot info here. You should start a new thread!!!! Im really looking for a 16 gig card so i might give them a call at abel cine. Lets hope they ship to canada!
