hi forum folks,

First time here, but looking to be a contributing member once we secure ourselves one of these handy HVX200s. We're a medium sized documentary video production job-training program for teens and we've decided to get one for this summer's shooting which starts next saturday.

There is a rebate going on right now til the end of June for Anton Bauer battery, charger, HVX book and DVD. Due to tricky financial wranglings, we might have to wait a week to have the $ in place.

Is there likely to be another rebate offer (maybe even better) happening as soon as this current one ends? There's a chance I can pull together the money this week, but I don't want to kill myself if there's likely to be a new offer next week. Plus, we can make do at the start of the program with our current DV gear, though it would be nice to integrate into the workflow from the beginning.

Also wondering if it's possible to buy the extended warranty later so the loot hit isn't so hard at once.

Much appreciation for any info from folks who are in the know.

All I've heard is that the current rebate will likely be extended.

Real issue is where you are going to secure p2 cards.

speaking of rebate.

when I try to register on the rebate form.
I keeps getting an error message saying that my model number is invalid or that the model in not available for a rebate.
I tried ag-hvx200 in every possible way, and it wouldnt let me submit.
my serial number is fine.

anyone else have this problem? or is there a special way to put hvx200?

I got from authurised dealer.

The serial number is not the problem.

its telling me that that "hvx200" for the model number is not able for rebate.
and I bought a week 10 days ago.

the rebate is good until June 30th.

they probably got a look at your company name and just figured you were retarded

- JUST KIDDING!

wonder if the lowercase ag is the problem?

Try putting "P" at the end of the model name -- the correct model for the US NTSC cameras is "AG-HVX200P"

I tired
hvx200
hvx200p /j
ag-hvx200
ag-hvx200p
ag-hvx200pj
pn-ag-hvx200
pn-ag-hvx200p
pn-ag-hvx200pj
and i've tried different spacings.

any one else have a simular problem?

its "AG-HVX200P" all caps

but I had tired earlier, and it didn't work, but when she told me to try that, it worked.
