Don't worry Brian...I was hit up for taxes on my Chipotle 10K too ;)

David...All the spots on my site are for contests. The JVC ad won second place and I got an 800 dollar camera ;)

Jack...thanks for the kind words. I did not know about adfest but will def look into it. I shot 2 heinz spots but didn't have all my equipment with me because I was on vacation in PR so the sound and picture are so so. The conecpts were rushed too. I'll enter them anyway. It HAS opened doors for me as I am now interning at a large agency in NY for the summer because of the work I've done!

Um no offense, but if you are INTERNING after making those spots, you are getting royally screwed. You should be putting yourself out as a Director.

I agree. You should totally be shooting and making money right now. Unless the internship is on a track to get you great clients and big pay in short order.

As for trying to be a director right now? I wouldn't know where to start or who to talk to. That is why I am getting my experience at the ad agency this summer and making connections. I'm still in school and have 2-3 more years. I would like to get my degree too.

I've still got tons to learn about directing and filmmaking. I'm relatively new to the biz and want to make sure I don't crash and burn by going in prematurely.

The guys at SmartPower were talking about me possibly doing work for them in the future (commercial stuff) which is kind of cool too.

I'm very lucky to have won those contests and have a wacky sense of humor like I do.

wow, that shows a lot of maturity and restraint. I would say that the sky is the limit for where and what you will do, especially with that plan of attack.

I actually had never seen that commercial, but I saw "The Simpsons" episode that ended with the same message. funny as hell. (well not really, but in the simpsons it was.)

as i was checking out "behind the scenes" i noticed you guys had a boom mic and the quality came out SUPERB.. what mic is that?

I don't know the model...its one I rent from my school for free. I believe its a Technica. Most I know though...

How does one get in on the contest action?

When you Google on "commercial contest" all you get are the results and silly commentary on past contests.

How do you get in touch with upcoming contests to enter?
