they are separate pieces and the UV filter also has threads on the front side also ....so you can screw on like a wide angle or another filter on it.......

How about this hood?

I already have a tiffen 43mm uv filter so I wouldn't need to get the model tokbandit suggested unless it's a good thing to have an extra uv filter around. Anyway, this one looks decent and is only $9.99. Has anyone done business with Virtual Village? I'm wary to give my credit card or even paypal info since they are in China.

Do you know of any hood in B&H or Amazon you can recommend?
Is there a way to fit cinetactics matteblox to the camera without a wide angle lens? Could you please explain in terms a n00b would understand?

Hi tomperson: I think you'd need a 43mm-72mm step-up ring. Cinetactics should know which one you need and have it, or know where you can get it. I'm pretty sure somebody makes one that size to mount a macrophotography "ring light" to a 43mm thread-size lens (sorry, can't remember which manufacturer).
