"Broken" Guys New Short Film "Cyn" HVX200 Trailer Under $1000

Nice trailer,

I liked the mood but like some think the grain is a little too strong.

People like to see the grit in the scenes on HD not on the picture. Hope this hasn't affended you in anyway.

Cheers

Good Job

Good Job

I liked the trailer-and I seriously hope you let us see the short.

I liked the look of the film-crushed blacks, grain, the lighting. It makes for a great look. Most of the creepy movies I've enjoyed had grain-namely the old 70's horror films.

It's also nice that you apparently shot the film with a deep focus and were still able to give it a filmic look-how did you achieve it (camera settings, lighting, computer programs, etc)?

Any idea when we can expect to see the web documentaries. Dying to see them.

please sell the dvd just like broken. guarantee you, you will sell as many as broken.

How about posting these same stills before any visual effects were added? Just curious to see these images clean.

Working right now on my BIG project right now that'll make these last few film look like kiddie stuff. Pushing the envelop baby!!!

Thanks for the support guys, means a lot!!!:nads:

What did you do for the sound design? It's awesome, the low hum at the beginnig, that sounds like wind, the fwooshes and swhooms from the intense cuts. We're looking at trying to do something like that for a fake movie trailer here soon.

We used the good guys at ROAR POST in Miami, FL (http://www.roarpost.com) I use them for all my sound needs.

BTW, check out the final feature poster:

Lovely poster there. Great stylizing. Digital or traditional painting?

Brilliant how the eyes lock onto you. Monalisa-esqe.

By the way, Cyn teaser looks professional and the sound design is excellent.
the website is well designed as is the key art and poster, nice job.

I've been getting this question a lot:

i just checked your Cyn teaser and i was wondering what program are you using to create the sounds effects. do you have a bank of sounds that you are always using or you create your own sound. thanks

I used Sound Designer and we have a stock of sound efxs from many different libraries. SoundTrack Pro from Apple helped a lot! Hope that helps!:Drogar-Smoke(DBG):

Alex Ferrari: The New Quentin Tarantino? (this is crazy by the way...)

Having founded the Enigma Factory in 1997, Alex Ferrari is well on his way to becoming a film phenomenon. Broken, a short film critically acclaimed by Robert Ebert, the Chicago Sun Times, Film Focus UK and Movies Online among many, many more, is one of the most celebrated short films of recent years- and was astoundingly all shot on an $8000 budget. Among his other successes are Daddy’s Home (a sensitive and thought provoking film on the effects of domestic violence seen through a child’s eyes) and producing Behind Forgotten Eyes (a documentary that tells the story of a few women who bravely came forward and spoke of a time in Korean history which many would like to forget- the taking of more than 200,000 Korean women and girls to serve as sexual slaves).

Cyn, his new film, is a trimmed down version of a longer script he created for his upcoming feature film project called ‘Red Princess Blues’. As he developed the Princess short film, he realised that it had less and less in common with his feature project. So then he created Cyn, which was done for under $1000 and, incredibly in six days. Currently on its journey around the festival circuit, its trailer is available for viewing at www.alittlecyn.com.

Alex Ferrari has a unique talent that has some in the industry comparing him to Quentin Tarantino. His films affect anyone who goes to see them. No matter the subject or the budget, Alex Ferrari approaches each film in a daringly thought provoking way.
