Just have to express my appreciation for my wife after 14 years of marriage, as of today. Without her support, I would have given up pursuing the goals I'm trying to attain a long time ago (thanks, Honey!).

Also curious about how many others have quite a few years of marriage under their belt, so thought I'd throw a poll in with this.

:) very happy for you and your wife Norm! I hope to one day get married, and have a family! It's one of my lifelong dreams :)

Congrats again, and have a wonderful anniversary!!! :)

Congrats. Veronica and I will hit Lucky 13 this September. Actually, we will most likely be on location, shooting that day. We spent our last anniversary location scouting.

Anyway, when I decide I wanted to do this crazy film stuff a few years back she just looked at me and said:

"Okay, what do you need?"

Then she took some of the money she got when her folks died to buy a DVX so I wouldn't have to sell my comic book collection. She rocks. I do what I do every day to sustain her illusions of my potential.

Congrats. Having someone next to you for support is a blessing.

This year will be my fifth anniversary.

1 year or 25th year, it's all worth celebrating ... it's just about never throwing in the towel, no matter how tough or mundane things get at times. Life is a roller coaster filled with ups & downs ... relationships (friendship, marriages, etc.) are no different. It's just about being able to find that middle/common ground again that bonds you in the first place to see it through, IMO.

Jim, I LOVE your comment about sustaining her illusions of my potential, lol! I feel you there.

Congrats Norm to you and your wife. My wife Kathy and I will be married 8 years this July. I'm sure you will agree that having that support and "home base" makes doing crazy and wacky stuff like, oh, I don't know... making films, a lot easier to deal with on the emotional level, especially having to bury a lot of it when working.

WELL... I posted in the wrong spot! So just add a year. I guess that I should slow down a little and try to do one thing at a time eh!

Well.... Maybe not!

Woo-hoo, you're the 'less than one year'!!! Congrats Kyle, on still being the newly wed! There will always be the ups & downs, but it's SOOO worth it to stick it through the long haul! We just got back from our date night, but looking forward to the trip we take at the end of this month to celebrate. :)

WOOHOO Norm! Congrats! I have been married for 18 years. I am glad to see that there are people out there who dont just jump in and jump out. It should be a lifetime commitment.

Is it true that married people live longer? Or does it just seem longer? (Stephen Wright)

4 years and the second kid on the way!!!!! And a hearty congratulations Norm.

Thanks everyone, we had a fun night last night going out. Hit a new restaurant that will be a repeat place for sure, and even ran into RebeccaD and her husband at another place last night as we stopped for some late night appetizers. :)

HUGE congratulations to whoever marked the poll for 20+ years, as well as to ncje for your 2nd child that's on the way! I'm assuming you're not referring to another camera you guys are getting, since your hubby's holding the one in the pic like a proud papa, lol!

Oh, and kdawg, I think I have heard before that married folks live longer ... as long as it's a healthy marriage, a lot of it probably comes from the support/affirmation that comes from it. Good stuff!
