Lowest price on hvx200, but i dont know if its legit or not. IS $4300 too low for a US authorized HVX200 ?

No reputable authorized seller is selling 'em anywhere near that low, that I can think of. $4995 is the lowest I've seen recently, and that was B&H and Samy's NAB special; I believe they're both back up to around $5200 now.

I paid $4,995 from Studio Exchange in Burbank, CA. They're an auth dealer and my experience was fantastic including very quick shipping. Got the rebate too. Great book, Barry! Just got the bootcamp DVDs too :-)

Studio Exchange in Burbank, CA is the greatest location I've ever bought gear from. Great products and prices, but what is unbeatable is their level of customer service. AMAZING. They walked me through (over the phone) on how to upload p2 footage correctly into FCP. This was something they didn't have to do but they insisted on helping me out when I asked a lot of questions.

Yes...their website still lists the HVX at $4,995!

I've seen as low as $4775.00 from Panasonic Authorized.

Which company is offering it at $4300?

Why the secret?

Yep, they're a great outfit and I talked to the owner himself when I called in to order my HVX. Now that I've just moved to So Cal I need to head up there one day in person.

Im really curious as to all of these low prices.. I would like to hear from some member of this board with a number of posts which has purchased a US version (not a grey market version) recently for under $4995 ...

I see a number of Ebay ads for the camera in the $3-$4k range, I just wonder if anyone has really purchased one from them and got a real US model for less than $4k.....

Maybe post-P2 rebate the price to dealers has really dropped....

..

There is a dealer on Amazon that claims to be selling a legit us version with full warranty for $4k. Seems fishy but the company has good feedback.

HVX for $4300

HVX for $4300

I purchased my HVX from EVS on eBay for $4300. I was sceptical but I recieved an unopen US model which I registered on the Panasonic website with no problems. Guessing it was was originlly bundled with the P2 card w/ rebate which they sold sepreatley to drop the price. I saved a ton on money and talked with the company before I payed via paypal, they assured me it was legit and the camera arrived 3 days later. Not asking to many questions but am very happy with the transaction.

vacationland, that's not how the P2 card promotion worked. EVS couldn't have unbundled the card because it never came with the camera, it was a mail-in with subsequent fullfillment by Panasonic deal.

Im planning on getting mine from ebay through an authorized dealer. I did my research, checked resellerratings. I talked with the rep over the phone and asked them several questions. I'm positive it'll be a smart move rather than spending 100s of xtra dollars for the assurance. Once I get it I'll register it with panasonic and if there's anything fishy, I'll just return it.

The "Buy it now" price is hundreds of dollars lower than other authorized dealers?

And what if there's something fishy because you receive an empty box?

Vacationland, was that EVS on Ebay that you bought from called Express Video Supply (which Panasonic lists as a dealer)? I'm not clear if the other EVS, Electronic Video Systems, is an authorized dealer or not.

To everyone else, if your serial number is not a US one, will the Panasonic site for the registration and rebate give you an error message? Or do you just never hear back? (I bought from an authorized dealer but there is some discrepancy with my model number).

There is a EVS on Ebay, which is Enhanced View Servies, here..

http://stores.ebay.com/Enhanced-View-Services , they are based in Florida, and not an authorized dealer, that said, they have a 100% Ebay review, and many happy buyers of the HVX200, and sell the HVX for around $4500, or so they say. No mention of a warranty, though, or if it is an official 'USA' model.

Which is different than EVS in Glendale, CA. . which is Express Vdeo Supply.
http://www.evsonline.com/ which is an authorized dealer, a really groovy place to buy anything, very friendly people. They DO need an expresso bar there, though, it would fit the mood of the place...

EVS, Electronic Video Systems, mentioned above, is here. . .
http://www.evsinc.com/ and does not appear to sell the HVX200.

NC in your serial number means its a non-USA or grey market model. A TC in the serial number means its a USA model with a USA warranty (when purchased in the USA)...

Jan stated that all US cameras have a TC serial number, but that TC is not exclusive to the US. The only thing you can infer from having a non-TC serial number is that it is definitely not a US camera, but you can still have a TC serial number and not be covered by Panasonic USA.

Yes TC serial number is not covered by Panasonic USA when not purchased in the USA, correct ?
